While we can all agree these decks are really strong this way of "fixing them" just seems very naive. Just killing top ends doesn't help the game in any way, it just forces everyone into the same play style. How is a deck ever supposed to compete with the consistency of something like Zoro, RG Law and others if we gut their late game. We went through months of brainless aggro meta, and 1 month into the healthiest format we've ever had everyone is just going crazy. Saka doesn't need any hit until 06 for sure, the deck is very fragile, and while it's the most consistent deck in the meta, every other meta deck can beat it on a good hand. Now some cards just need to go, not because of their power necessarily, but because of their effect on the game. 10 mom is so easy to find, it has 2 different searchers as well as other means of fixing your hand, she also has no counterplay pretty much, it's a +2 on life, 2 of these in a row is so oppressive that I think even leaving 2 of her might be too much. Yamato is way more balanced and so is katakuri, they're flexible but you can play around Yamato so that she doesn't heal/remove based on your priorities, same with Kata as you can remove their body to prevent healing. The strength of cards by themselves is almost never an issue, they will be surpassed and answers will be discovered or printed eventually. The only real reason to touch anything would be uninteractive gameplay (such as Nami) or effects that are so efficient that they just win you the game with no counterplay such as the WB stage. Overall Bandai has done a great job so far as we can see from the diversity at the nationals in recent weeks, it's not easy to create such a balanced meta while also allowing rogue options to perform well into it.

It's not a fix because the game is in a horrendously unbalanced state, it's a fix for making the game more fun and widening the options even more. Limiting top-end cards to 2 of each stops the issue of being able to drop game-altering cards like 10 drop moms on repeat, or dropping 9 beards every turn for multiple turns in a row. The repetitive aspects of these cards make them so unfun and unfair, I agree. But limiting them to two does hit their consistency with searchers and limits the number of games in which these cards can be seen back to back. Now you could argue that it is just 9 and 10 drops that need this hit and I can see a reason behind it but, I was also looking at this monetarily and a decrease in the number of Katas you can run would probably help reduce his price a considerable amount. If a meta is truly balanced, everything is viable and everything has a meta deck. This is unobtainable and unrealistic, but the current meta you are correct in stating is very balanced compared to sets 1-4 here in the West. But that doesn't mean outliers don't occur, it's pretty obvious that Sakazuki and the yellow decks are the biggest outliers. Conversion percentage across big tournaments is highest among these decks by a large margin. Thus you don't need to gut them in a way that completely kills them, but tuning them down might not be a bad option. I am not claiming my fixes are perfect, they are an opinion piece from my perspective and from my knowledge. I am looking at this from a consumer viewpoint and two of the most important factors from that viewpoint would be accessibility to these cards(most singles are ok price-wise, 9 Beard is a little high and Katakuri is out of control but these are outliers) and from enjoyability. Balance would be a tertiary objective as a meta can be balanced and yet very unfun or frustrating to play in, many people would state this meta is at least somewhat frustrating. The only decks I personally have a vendetta against are Enel and Kata, I think their top end is too consistent and they have too many ways to maintain a winning board state that forces every opponent to have to play their strategy. As consistent as Sakazuki is at controlling and recurring value, he can run into issues with maintaining cards in hand to have a defense. So personally I have fewer issues with him and think personally he doesn't need any changes but for the sake of having an optional change the one in my video would be how I would approach it. Hopefully, this clears up the reason I decided to make this video and why I will standby my opinion as to why a change to the state of top-end cards is potentially needed and why a change to black could allow for continued diversity into the next couple months/sets.

@@the_lord_nick Completely agree with accessibility, pretty much every card in Sakazuki needs a reprint. I think I approached this purely as a matter of competitive integrity, and aside from a bit too much rng on yellow's side this format is fantastic. I see that the game could be more fun in some aspects with your proposed solution. I also think that we could have a fun format where every card is limited to 1. Anyways I hope I didn't come off too aggressive in the first comment, I also hate Katakuri and to a lesser extent Enel, but I think hitting an entire playstyle because of a couple decks feels wrong. I think bandai has kept track of the meta and done a good job so far with fixes, as well as giving every deck/playstyle their time to shine, I trust them to find a fix for these and I will keep waking up every morning hoping that 10Mom is banned/restricted.

I understand mate, look I get passionate about things too and it seemed like you were trying to a make a well thought out critic of my video and I appreciate it. I also appreciate the follow up, I like knowing from what angle people are approaching a topic because that matters greatly in terms of how they will perceive a viewpoint/arguement. I have learned to hate 10 drop mom, but I think if too much power is taken straight from yellow or saka then we will see the return of the red scourge. The limiting on top end puts us closer to the previous restrictions we had on Whitebeard but also hits Ace and a couple of other potent top end bombs. I think there is definitely a more finesseful way of approaching it and I trust Bandai will find that way. Despite my grievances with certain decks and matchups the game is easily in it's best state so far and I have nothing but excitement for upcoming sets. I would prefer they print more tech cards to deal with these issues opposed to restricting but the fastest and easiest fix is to remove something.@@jenostheascended7818
