Rohan Singh Bhadhoriya That’s lil surprising! usually an arowana that eats pellets, eats chicken liver quickly. Mine used to become aggressive, may be sensing the fresh meat. Anyway, good luck with ur aros .

@@RohanSingh-pc9sp I used to feed dry shrimp only once in a two days. I don't think there will be a problem. Don't feed gold fish, that's the reason my aro got a drop eye. If you are in India you get lot of feed online (like inch gold, taiyo etc) keep 2-3 types and feed all types. That's what i used to do.

My arowanas have started eating chicken liver it takes a lot of patience though. My arowanas have literally started eating everything they even eat the tetras which i provide for my 4 parrot fish. Also eat cucumber in addition . Luckily mine were pellet trained. Dint need to train them 😁

Mine started eating pellets from day one, but was choosy on the brand of the pellets. I used to feed Inch gold, sera and aquafin brands also dry shrimps. If you have other fishes in tank it will start eating seeing the other fishes (will take 2-3 days)

I have tried with dried meal-worms and shrimps, takes them in his mouth and spites them out. The same with sera pellets. Only grasshoppers but I'm running out :)) can't find anymore outside. I guess when I run out of grasshoppers he will eat something else or starve to death. I have Sera Arowana pellets, dried meal-worms, dried shrimps and frozen shrimps :)) The grasshoppers will be over in 3 weeks (I have a frozen stash in my freezer).

Once when i went out of stock the dried shrimps, he hesitated to eat the shrimps when i bought them again, but i went on feeding only shrimps and after 3 days he started to eat(I had other fishes which were eating may be because of seeing them he started). The same i did with my oscar for eating pellets. Try with fish like salmon, anchovies, or chicken pieces he may eat.

Drop eye is common in silver Arowanas but can be avoided with a healthy diet an environment. Feeder fish are really bad for this fish.

No 55 Gallons, my tank size is 120cm L X 47cm W X 44cm D ( i think same as yours). When i bought mine it was only 2.5 - 3 inch long so i think you can keep 1 year (Max) in this tank.

Finding Truth don't feed gold fish, don't keep a plain bottom tank (to avoid reflection) , dont keep bottom dwelling fast moving fishes (like bala shark). Keep some floating balls so it concentrate on such objects

You will have to starve it to start feeding on pellets, feed good quality pellets like taiy, inch gold etc. you can feed chicken liver also.

This is caused by fat deposit behind the eye. There is a cosmic surgery(search in KZfaq), but I didn't try as I am not an expert. Prevention - not to feed fatty foods like gold fish, liver etc. Make fish swim a lot (larger tanks)

I used to feed chicken liver & dried shrimps only once in alternate week, as it causes fat deposit behind eye. If your tank is large (enough space to swim - like 200 gal) i think you can. If you have small tank then better not do so, water will be contaminated and since less space to swim will cause fish to develop fat deposit.
