I have read that the Azure top lifting mechanism suffers from the fact that it is lifting a much heavier top than the top on the Mercedes. The original high pressure lines tend to split and crack. New replacement lines do not have this problem. It just costs 8k to get there. If they do fail, they can spray hydraulic oil all over the interior from the area just above the rear view mirror. I wouldn't want to know what a new interior would cost for an Azure. The dealer is smart to redo the lines on the hydraulic lift system because a knowledgeable buyer would ask if it has been addressed on a used Azure.

I own an R129 and was about to respond that the oil is mostly clear and shouldn't be too bad to clean up (I know this from expeirence). But then I remembered Bentleys use custom hides and carpets that probably cost more than the value of my R129 to replace...

I doubt that when I hear his insane prices...
@docgiggles1303 жыл бұрын
@@niconesta8566 He is using the industry book rate and then giving a discount on labor. If you don't know, they don't bill by the time they take to do something. They bill by the time the manufacturer says it should take. All shops use the book rate when giving a quote for repairs. Many times it takes less time so the shop gets to charge extra. A good shop will give you a discount for the unused, but quoted time. Same goes for the parts. Most shops will quote the price for OEM equivalent parts. Some shops will give you the choice of quality the parts are if their supplier has several options. A bad shop will use the cheapest part, but charge the price of the highest price part. Now, for the insane prices they talked about here, you need to remember that they are not talking about normal cars. These are high end, exotics and luxury brands. A part that would cost $20 in a chevy will run $100 for the BMW and $1000 for the Rolls Royce/Bentley/Exotics. And that is before a repair shop adds their small markup. I can do a full brake job on my HHR myself for about $350. A shop will charge $650-$750. That same job on Bentley Continental GT will set you back $3800 to have a shop do it. Just the price of the front discs and pads ($800) is more than the entire shop rate to change everything in my car and that is just parts for the Bentley. There is still the labor, disposal, and fluid costs that haven't been added in yet. Owning a high end exotic or luxury car is a money pit. They know that the people that can afford to buy a $400,000 car can afford a $4000 brake job so they charge that price. It's not the fault of the repair shop. That luxury tax comes from the manufacturer.

I remember schlepping a full-size oven in the back of my Rover 216 Vanden Plas back in the day, about 24 years ago. It ripped the padding at the top of the driver's door, but aside from that, and the fact that it was a bugger to get the thing in and out of a small 4-door saloon, it was a successful operation. As for hyper-inflated parts prices, you should join an owners' club. When I was a member of the Aston Martin Owners' Club, I learnt some useful information, such as that the steering rack of a DB5 is interchangeable with that on a Morris Minor. Such information can drastically reduce the cost of repairs and, given there's no warranty to worry about, a nod's as good as a wink to a blind horse.

That one looks like it might be a Type-SH with the ground skirts and rear deck spoiler. I had the base model but had them install the spoiler and swap the curved wheels for the straight spoke wheels from the SH. I bought it brand new in December of 1999 and sold it in May of 2010 with 225,000 miles. I had bought a new 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 6 speed manual coupe and kept both for a year. What was that dance/walk at the beginning?🤣🤣my favourite dumbest KZfaq channel. 👍
@Speednote103 жыл бұрын
He's started doing that in every video. It's so forced and fake though that I hope for his sake that he's doing it because of a very lucrative bet or something along those lines.

@@Speednote10 🤣🤣🤣it definitely must be a bet. No way he dances like that.

It's the personality of the channel, doesn't take itself too seriously, and a little goofy.

Convertibles are great. Brought home a new & free 5-drawer metal file cabinet in my 1991 Mercury Capri XR2 once. Great memories. 💔
