Am a straight boy, no, not bisexual or wondering what I might be but this movie had me in tears ! Beautiful and emotional........one of my best friends, yes, a guy from the good old school days was gay. He only told me when we were 18 and he has suffered more than I would want anyone to suffer because he is " GAY. " The mocking, the attacking, the lies, the hiding, the abuse, the total rejection by some of his family members and mine, mind you. Steve I will love you forever, no matter what happen.......you are a legend and my idol !!!

Marki know this: to refer to your self as anything but "healthy" does a disservice to your quality of being: 'straight', 'gay', 'bi', or whatever, is an artificial construct created by Hans-Ebbing in the 1850's: never before had such choice of libidous object been qualified. Fifth to third C Ancient Greece did not have a name for same-sex attraction, it just 'was'. The need of contemporary society to qualify expressions of individuality into categories flows from the fragmentation of society in tribal groups, seeking security by 'sameness'. To exist, as a personality, among diverse groups, whether it be religion, gender, nationality, or libidinous attraction, is the definition of strength in a personality. Settle down, irrespective of the gender, have ki=ds, love them, teach them the purity and strength of persoanlity that your possess. Let me know when, and I will send a gift to your humanity...Bisous.

For decades writers and film makers have been treating gay stories as tragedies, as if universal forces and the scorn of society preordain that gays must suffer. Things are finally changing, and here is this remarkably mature work in which the characters have the agency to make their own destiny. I love it...like water in the desert.

I'll never forget my best friend in high school. I came out to him, and he had no knee jerk reaction, he just said he cared about me no matter what. Then months later, we shared a room for a competition we were in. He took a shower first thing and came out with just a towel on and walked up to me and said, "what do you think?". Haha .. he was my best friend and it scared the living daylights out of me because I secretly wanted to be with him so bad but didn't take the risk for fear afterwards he would no longer want to be near me. Yeah, these situations are complex and probably most gay guys have experienced something similar at some point in their lives.

In love with my best friend. He's much younger than me but we came into each other's life at the right time. I ordered an Uber to take me to Mass. He showed up and my life hasn't been the same since. It's takes a real man to be strong and compassionate. I came out to him very early in our friendship. I wanted no secrets. He told me to be me. The first time we went out, he showed up in a magnificent Black SUV. I felt like Cinderella finally making it to the ball. When I left his car to go back into my house, I heard his truck door close. I could see him out of the corner of my eye. He came around to the passenger side to watch me make it inside the door. I could hear tell me goodnight. I waved but couldn't turn around. I would have lost it if I did. I crawled up the stairs to my room and cried. He had me hooked.

When I was was watching this in the beginning, I thought 'This reminds me of Ari and Dante from the book Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe.' , so I looked in the description and it is inspired by the book! You did a good job capturing the characters, and even on it's own, it is a beautiful film, with great acting. Amazing job, love it!❤

was one of the first persons to watch it, and as short as it is it still became one of my 4 favorite films of all time. I did not comment on one very unique thing previously, apart from having shared it with everyone I know who matters: at the very end he did not give the usual flowery answer when asked, "What are you doing?" The response was real, and was genius for what happens so often with first loves and relationships...... THANK YOU !!!

A beautifully crafted film; a script which moves with great emotional subtlety, the pitch of mood perfectly suited to the narrative arc of loss, confession, self-discovery and revelation and represented by two very talented actors (and, in Daniel's case, also the screenwriter). Bravo. One of the best gay-centred films I've ever seen.

Definitely brought back memories.. For a gay man/boy falling in love with your straight best friend is never an easy thing to go through. The friendships rarely last through that. at least it didn’t in my case. At 18 and 17, he was my first true love, and man did I have it bad… It became impossible to hide my feelings…..Our eventual parting of ways had me torn up for months when the friendship ended …

I just read Dante and Aristotle Discover the Secrets of the Universe about 2 months ago and while watching this I thought about how much this reminded me of it. Then Dante said, "Ari" and what an uncommon name I knew it was the book. Anyway I just wanted to say how amazing that book is and you did an equally amazing adaptation. Great work!

I didn't tell anyone in school. It wasn't the time to tell. Missed all those years. Now reliving them through movies. THAT was the most amazing thing ever - after years and decades of questioning and doubting I saw movies of what before only happened in my head. I wrote stories (and burned them) and years later those stories were movies and short films.
