“The Bible video that nobody asked for” 😅 made me laugh! So true but it’s the one we all like to see! I just love Bibles and I struggle sometimes hoping I’m not “idolizing” beautiful bibles but keeping their meaning at the forefront. I have many as well and it seems I always want another one. 😬🙏🏻

I can relate!! I feel that way too sometimes! But I do know God made us to appreciate beauty and it’s good to love His word! I just try to buy responsibly and to make good use out of them and thank Him for His blessing ❤️❤️❤️ have a beautiful day sister thank you for making me smile!

So fun. I've been going through a different translation each year. So far, NEB, CSB Chronological, NRSV, and ESV. Next, I hope to read NASB, Complete Jewish Study Bible, NIV, and NET. I mark passages with sticky tabs which I copy in journaling bibles. Like you, I love the ESV Illustrated Journaling Bible. This takes @ one hour each morning and all day on the Sabbath (mixed with Scriptural teachings online). I love learning about Adonai, Yeshua, and his Spirit.

That’s such a great idea to do a translation per year!! Have you heard of TLV tree of life translation? I really enjoy that one as well!

I have this bible 😁 but I am having some issues with ESV post 2011 translation version for reasons that are too long to explain here. So I am giving mine away once I can get it out of storage 🥲 I can recommend highly one more bible for you Elyse: NIV CULTURAL STUDY BIBLE. They have the NKJV if that is your preference. But to be honest, the NKJV has a lot more footnotes given the nature of the translation and lack of room to clarify things that have been lost in translation, so I found NIV less cumbersome. Nice to see you make videos again Elyse!

I lean toward the ESV or NASB. Keep in mind some translations are more word for word and some more thought for thought, however, translation and paraphrase are separate things. The New Living Translation (NLT) is a legitimate translation by a group of Bible language scholars. A paraphrased Bible, like the Passion, is usually written by one person with more opinion involved. The NLT is not a paraphrase.

thank you for sharing! I've enjoyed watching and listening! I have ESV study Bible in large print but don't use it too often (really loaded with info) but I don't recall mine being color - I love color though! I like Nelson NKJV (complete study system then renamed study Bible) and Life in the Spirit - for some reason the charts and commentary in those 2 haven't intimidated me too much!

Thank you for the video! I just bought 3 bibles today, a chronological and 2 others that have history, pictures, etc. I also ordered a compact one from Amazon to do topical studies in. This is in addition to the 3 bibles I have previously. I can't wait to use my study bibles and delve more into the historical context. 😊

Hello Elise! Just found your channel. This is a great video. I apologize for typos am healing from eye surgery using a magnifying glass to write. Loved the 1st illuminated Bible, is it leather or hardcover? Also the last Bible counsel Bible, I thought the colored circles were part of it, silly me; where did you purchase them? I think I'd like to get this version for my daughter who's an RN. Looking forward to seeing your review. Curious on the opinions of the commentaries. Thank you! Blessings 🙏.

Hi!! Thank you for watching!! 💜 The illuminated Bible is a leather like cover :) and the review is up for the life counsel Bible!! I hope it is helpful to you!! I think it would be great for a nurse! The circle tabs are from Amazon and you can find them by searching for transparent sticky notes 💛 I pray you heal quickly and easily!

Why did you seek out the New Geneva Study Bible as opposed to just buying a Reformation Study Bible which is also edited by Sproul. What is the difference?
@elyselovesjesus9 ай бұрын
I am not sure of all the differences, but my mom had a copy of the new Geneva and I really just liked the layout and the paper and they were cheaper (at the time, not sure about now) lol
