I moved to France last December and guess what? I took my big aviary with me!
A short video of my new home, lake and big aviary in France. More sunshine for me and my birds...

Cool design. lots of "garrulax". How deep did you dig to put the fence (+- 50 cm to avoid rats/mice) ? Do you have an address to purchase the poles and connectors in France ? I would like to build a similar aviary for my pycnos and leothrix.

This aviary is completely overgrown nowadays. The Garrulax breed really well in it. I should make another video...Yes, 50 cm deep and electric fencing. Poles and connectors were bought in the Netherlands. I don't now if and where they are for sale in France. Perhaps you can buy scaffolding materials instead?

Hi Robert, Hele mooie grote en degelijke volière. Heb je die zelf gebouwd? Waar heb je die materialen vandaan? Ik ben op zoek naar dit soort bouwelementen om ook een boven-afsluiting te kunnen maken, maar nog niet kunnen vinden.

Hoi Sjef, Oorspronkelijk in Nederland (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jsp2l6WavMCde58.html ) heb ik deze volière laten bouwen door ABC hekwerken. Ik leverde destijds het ontwerp aan en zij zetten hem op. Toen ik emigreerde heb ik hem afgebroken en hier samen met een maat weer opgebouwd. De materialen(buizen) zijn dus hetzelfde als waar de bekende groene hekwerken van worden gemaakt en zijn ook los te koop bij andere bedrijven (zie bijv. nettenlijn.nl/netten-en-volierebouw). Het kan allemaal ook goedkoper. Ik heb een dergelijke volière, maar dan kleiner, ook wel eens gebouwd van 2e hands steigerpijp. De door mij gebruikte buiskoppelingen zijn bij verschillende bedrijven te koop bijv. www.steigerbuisgroothandel.nl/buiskoppelingen. Succes. MVG. Robert. Ps. het ophangen van Cd's om haviken en sperwers te verjagen haalde hier destijds ook weinig uit...

@@whiteblackbird8494 Hoi Robert, Bedankt voor de tips. Ik ben nog steeds aan het bekijken hoe ik het wil gaan maken. Maar ik ben ook bang dat het een behoorlijke constructie moet gaan worden als je het netjes wilt doen. Ik zag bij jouw video ook CDs hangen, terwijl bij jou toch alles dicht is. Waarom heb je die opgehangen?

@@OutdoorsintheLowCountries Sommige vogels raakten, ondanks dat de roofvogels niet bij ze konden komen, toch in paniek. Met name door sperweraanvallen. Ze vlogen dan hard tegen het gaas... Tegenwoordig is de grote volière veel dichter begroeid dan op de video, dus minder last. De rij kleinere volières achter de grote vlucht zijn nu afgeschermd met schaduwdoek. Hierdoor ook veel minder last van roofvogels.

Bonjour, des espèces dans cette volière: Garrulax bicolor,Garrulax albogularis,Trochalopteron milnei Dryonastes courtoisi,Zoothera siberica,Turdus poliocephalus niveiceps,Turdus migratorius et Sturnus vulgaris (mutation blanc) Cordialement.

Merci de votre réponse. Très belle installation et très belles espèces. Je débute dans les insectivores, pensez vous qu'il soit possible que nous puissions nous contacter ? Je cherche en effet à apprendre sur ces espèces, souhaitant réorienter mon élevage (j'élevais principalement des faisans d'ornement, colombes exotiques et exotiques becs droits). Je ne détiens pour le moment que les espèces d'insectivores/frugivores suivant : Spréo superbe. Bulbul cafés. Touraco Leucotis. Merci à vous, Cordialement

Bonjour, pour ma part j'ai des becs crochus, et mon rêve sera d'avoir une volière semblable à la votre. Si ce n'est pas indiscret niveau prix combien coûte une installation comme celle ci ? Et qu'elle entreprise les réalise ?

J'ai apporté le matériel des Pays-Bas. Aucune idée de ce que cela coûte en France. Aussi ne sait pas s'il existe des entreprises en France qui construisent une telle volière. Le prix dépend de si vous construisez vous-même ou faites-le construire par une entreprise (10-12 K en Pays-Bas) et si vous utilisez nouveau matériaux ou occasion.
