This had to be my most successful Goodwill trip and biggest haul ever... treasures were just flowing into my cart! I found some AMAZING treasures... lets go thrifting and find out what they are!

Today my son Jake asked if he could join me at Goodwill and as luck would have it they were restocking the shelves at my favorite Goodwill at Rainbow and Cheyenne here in Las Vegas! I have my Thrifting Vegas blanket and my reuseable shopping bags ready. Today, we found so many amazing treasures, and a couple of incredible pieces of furniture! Thrift with me for some unexpected items, learn what to bolo and what to leave on the shelf, and why. Those brass rubbing plates are lit! 🔥 I remember doing those with my family at Westminster Abbey on summer vacation. My mom had each of our rubbings framed when we got home. I totally think that you should keep and display them. Great score!

At such a young age, Jake certainly has his mom's gift at finding items for resale . Hee had an excellent instructor . Really nice shopping trip . I find Goodwill stores up here like this . At times there's nothing special, but at other times, there's so much stuff you don't know where to start . Lol.

I have the blue hobnail salt dish. I have it in green also. I am 69 and they belonged to my Granny. I absolutely would never part with mine. Great haul. Made me want to get in my car in NE FL and drive to Vegas to your Goodwill.

The brass rubbing facsimiles took me back to my childhood! My parents took me to Stratford upon Avon, to the rubbing centre. I think the one I did was of Henry VIII I think the little elephant stuffy is Liberty. Take care darling xx

The small decorative porcelain dishes could be a collection of butter pats originally used for individual serving slices or curls of butter on a dining table. Very popular with collectors because of their small size. The bookends with anchors entwined with rope are referred to as "fouled" anchors, meaning they were caught on something in the ground (sea floor) or were entrapped by cable or chain. Symbolically, they are used in naval insignias, particularly for the chief petty officer on a ship who typically faces a range of challenges in the course of duty each day.

I was happy to share what I learned about the anchors after I came across a set of Homer Laughlin small plates with them made for a Navy mess hall at a local thrift store in my area in upstate NY and did some research on them. They’re prized by collectors and not found often at thrift stores, so grab them if you come cross them! Ironically, soon after I found mine, Country Living magazine (US) featured them on a full page in their July 2022 issue.

SALT SHAKERS sometimes make good incense stick holders, but you have to use a separate plate to catch the ash.

You didnt look on the bottom. Something was wrapped in bubble wrap, it could of been the dragon chess pieces. Also on the bottom shelf, a gold, Hollywood Regency style covered footed dish. Looked interesting and Hollywood Regency still sells.

You really found some wonderful items!! I love that chess board! Can’t wait to see if you find the pieces that belong to it! And I had to chuckle a bit when you found the B and B tin. Tiffany Jake is your good luck charm and he has a wonderful eye for thrifty. That bohemian piece was everything I couldn’t have left that on the shelf that would be so beautiful with some Christmas bulbs and some twinkle lights in it at Christmas time with a sparkle like glass. And if that price wonderful they go for close to $100.

I love that Jake seems to enjoy your magical journey thru all the shops. My family gave up on going with me. Since my son died in 2016 I've only done estates. Not even that any longer. I wish we would have gone thrifting when we visited Vegas in 2015.

Jake seems to have the thrifting bug, too! lol! 😂 I do so enjoy seeing the way he lights up when you ask him to help you. 😊🎉 . I'm especially glad you mentioned that it was Jake helping you when a hand ✋️ came into view on the left when you were gathering up some of the treasures! Sometimes, in their zeal, shoppers can get grabby and spoil all the fun, and I'd hate for that to happen. 😮 . You probably checked and I missed it, but the baggies might have been a good place to look for the chess pieces, eh? . As I was writing that, I realized that you probably had Jake look through the baggies for the chess pieces. And, with his keen eye 👀 for treasures, they may not have even been put out yet. 🥰

I love vintage salt cellars. I use them to put my different fish foods in. I also love teak wood cloches. I saw one towards the beginning of your video. I don’t know if they have any resale value, but I certainly would’ve picked it up for myself:)
