I agree if you feel like how your body feels and awhat the doçtor says seems at odds get a second or third opinion. Thank you for sharing your experience

I know this was four years ago, but around the same time I had a very similar birth story with my now four year old! Failed induction, failed epidurals, lots of pain and ultimately a c-section. Recovering from a long labor and surgery was way harder than my subsequent scheduled c-section. Looking back at pictures I just looked so frail and ghostly! Anyway. Just wanted to share.

So pleased that you are both ok after such a traumatic experience, Congratulations to you and Sam on the birth of your Baby Girl

You went through so much and did incredibly well. I went through two traumatic labours and I'm so glad you're coping well, it can be so easy to feel guilt or try and redo it in your head, but like you said, everyone is healthy and that's what matters. Hope you're all doing well now and getting used to the new baby crazy!

Wow you could have been talking about my first birth, I was induced and believe that’s where all the problems started, ended up going for a emergency c section and like youths epidural didn’t work only my doctor didn’t listen to me and went ahead a cut me open it was horrendous felt everything so ended up being put to sleep with his hands inside me. I was traumatised for a long time I. Fact hearing you story brought it all back. Second time around I demanded an elective c section (they tried the whole time to make me try natural again) completely different experience it was calm and I actually enjoyed it and recovered much quicker. So you are right listen to you gut feeling. So glad you and your beautiful little girl and ok and healthy and I hope you and Sam aren’t effected to much. X

Wow Sophie, that is quite the story. So sorry it didn't go as planned but so glad you are both happy and healthy. The idea of giving birth has always terrified me and yours is not the first 'traumatic' story of birth I have heard. I think I'll stick to dogs :) I think a Q&A is a great idea for anyone who is pregnant or wants to have kids.

Why is this dad not excited and happy for the birth. He was very unsupportive. I am expecting my baby and I wish he comes on my birthday but he should come after 12 days from my birthday . I would have been over the moon if my baby had come on my birthday
