Christy, your videos are such a joy to watch! While everyone in the world seems to be at each other’s throats you’re this calm, beautiful break from all of this. Keep up the great work!

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who doesn't feel they really know a person until they have inspected their bookshelves, so I enjoyed this. As a very old person, living on the other side of the planet, I wasn't expecting to see many titles that I, too, own, but there were quite a few. Most of the classic lit, quite a bit of Haruki Murakami, Lud in the Mist (worth reading), Susanna Clarke, some Angela Carter... The one I most want to steal is Literary Wonderlands. The ones I find most impressive are all the Japanese language ones, and the thing I most envy is how tidy and accessible they all are. Thanks for the tour.

I always adore seeing Naomi Novik on someone’s bookshelf. I tend to be a very hot and cold reader-five books in a week and then nothing for a couple months, but her stuff always pulls me back into reading.

I’m fortunate to have nabbed many hurt books from Dymocks Adelaide over the years. I glue a piece of cardboard to the back and then cover the whole book with adhesive book covering (Contact) so it feels more normal!

Would have loved to see your vinyls, I know you don’t have many and I’ve spotted a couple, but not all of them. And girl, Slipknot? Very metal of you 😂✨

When you said "a one piece jigsaw puzzle", it took my brain a moment to realise you meant a One Piece jigsaw puzzle, and not a jigsaw puzzle of only one piece (as opposed to a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle) 😝 I always think your apartment (for some reason I wrote apartnest then) looks so clean and tidy! I think that's because if I filmed at my house, in the background of every room there would be so much medical equipment everywhere and papers galore. I always make sure I have a cup of tea in hand before watching your videos.💚💚 So cosy. It would take so long to do a bookshelf here. We easily have over a thousand books now over about 24 bookshelves. Running out of shelf room!

The designer of clank! Designed the game Dune Imperium based on books/film. But uses worker placement and deckbuilding. It’s an amazing game. A couple of great games to also get Wingspan (plus it’s two expansions) and Libertalia Winds of Galecrest Btw that’s a very small game collection.

I see you have The Lies of Locke Lamora. It's an amazing book. I reread it once a year. The sense of humor and dialogues is just exquisite. Can't wait to hear your thoughts after you read it.

Is that the 1818 text of Frankenstein? I see that one as differentiated from an 1831 version of the book. Not sure which version I should try to seek out. Though now I see a book that has both, so maybe that solves it.

I'm curious... You don't seem to own that many books and there are quite a few that you haven't read yet. You seem to be an avid reader from what I can tell. So do you just borrow a lot of books from the library, do you resell books you did not like or do you simply not read as much as it seems from your channel etc.? Lots of love from Germany :)
@christy-anne-jones2 жыл бұрын
I was curious after reading your comment, so I did a quick count 😅 Of the 150ish book here, less than 15 aren't read! For your context, last year I read 65 books; but because of environmental sustainability, my complex around buying wastefully, buying books within a budget etc. most of the books I read are ebooks, audio books and library books 😊 I actually explained my philosophy around book buying in the last bookshelf tour just after the 15:17 mark, if you're interested: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbqaac6J0cvKaIk.html 😊💛
