When you assemble the struts, both locking nuts needs to be below the spring seat rather than on either side like I did in the video. The bottom is a locking nut essentially so snug that up against the one that’s in contact with the spring seat.

One of the downfalls or the bad thing about those Broncos is the rack and pinion tie rods bad design brakes really easily I'd straight axle it or try to find a better rack and pinion for it hear that or put a Toyota rack and pinion in it LOL

Okay, couple comments first, you said in the comments. Both nuts go below the spring pirch that would allow you to adjust ride height without taking struts out, just unload the suspensionthen you should be able to adjust and may help with number two comment depending on how expensive the top hats are you might be better off buying new ones and have a shop put them together for you might save you down time on your ride just somei thoughts

Hey man, great stuff. I just installed MRRs on my 2nd gen Tacoma a few months ago. Really love them. I did notice that it took about 1500 to 2000 miles for the front springs to really settle. They didn't lose a ton of height or anything, but they became a lot softer and more compliant. For a while they were really stiff, didn't even allow full up travel. So just something to keep in mind. You may want to go a little higher at first and make sure you give them a couple thousand miles to really give them a full review.

I just put a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers on my Bronco. Along with the Flowmaster outlaw exhaust delete. Both made a big difference for my Bronco. Now I need to get out and try out the tires where they belong. THE DIRT!

Yeah you do! I don’t have experience with the trail grapplers. I’ve heard they’re amazing though.

I'd love to do this to my Bronco. Are there any updates on the adaptive cruise. I really want a winch but also love adaptive cruise.

Compressing those coils is a pretty sketchy thing. I had Dobinsons on my 91 Land Cruiser. Great springs, but the top heavy sway was very noticeable. I am puttin Mickey Thompson MTs on my Sasquatch. Are your rock sliders true rock sliders or the pinch weld mounted steps? I need to pick some up. What are you going with?

Ride looks great! Awesome video. I think you are chasing how the bronco looked before the lift. Your fender gap was tight. I personally think you raise the rear up an inch and follow the same with the front. A little more fender gap will look really nice with the 37's. Keep up the good work man.
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND Ай бұрын
Yeah I even said that I think. The front was to high but I was trying to find the right setting so I had to take it off multiple times to chase the right setting, and ended up too low. But this isn’t my long term kit so I decided to stop messing with it

It is. I was searching for the right settings and level for the front but went too far the other direction. Ran out of time before the alignment too so it is what it is for now

What did you do w/your stock Steering Rack and its Tie Rods? With those big tires, and the lift, your stock Steering Rack won't handle them, nor will the Tie Rods especially.

Did you not need to replace the upper control arms when installing this kit?
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND Ай бұрын
You don’t have to. But I will replace them when dobinsons has the billet UCAs in stock. The bronco doesn’t have enough caster adjustment with the lift so adjustable UCAs would be helpful

Not very much room between top of tire to bottom of fender. Is 2” enough?
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND Күн бұрын
Well, this was a 2” and a jump up to 37” tires so the gap doesn’t look as big. But it was enough to clear the bigger tires. I have the MRRs on now which gave me about a 3” lift and it’s a lot better now

Interesting set-up. There is a lot of engineering that goes into these suspension systems which is why imo it shouldn't be meddled with. It seems like a vast improve- ment off road but may have negative effects on road. A higher center of gravity can lead to instability in a panic maneuver at highway speeds causing a rollover scenerio. You might consider some spacers to widen the wheelbase.
