Holy crap THANK YOU!! Just like the other comment said, I tried the velcro, duct tape, "gentle" prying and tapping, and this worked so well. Life saver!!

I'm so glad I found this!! I had a cheap battery that was lodged in my camera and wouldn't release. I did not have a glue gun but the duct tape trick saved me. Thank you so much!

Thats handy. I usually use a very fine computer screwdrver. Had the problem with native batteries as well. Often when not in use for long periods.

You call it a glue stick but I always think those are those pritt sticks we had at school. I'm thinking some sort of suction pad might be better here? One with a stick to use to pull the battery out. I can't find anything like that though

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. As you know, it has been almost a month I got rx 10 iv and I am very surprised with the performance. But I noticed that the battery drains very quickly even the canera is off during night. For instance, if I switch it off with 40-50% battery, tomorrow morning it depletes to 1-2% which is weird. Do I need to remove the battery after useage, changing setting or updating firmware, etc? Some people say that the wifi setting should be switched to 'airplane mode'. Or maybe this is a serious issue I need to return it back to get fixed. Thanks

that is a great idea to glue something to bottom of battery. Using a glue stick is just plain clever. To bad I'm across the pond in the US and your battery choice is not available her. I did find ebay sells them but from England and about $35 shipping plus the cost of battery. I;m using Neewer for now. But thanks for the info.

Thank you for the link to the batteries..... As you know I have just taken delivery of my new RX10iv and I want to get a couple of spare batteries, these seem to be just the ticket. If I'm being totally selfish, I hope they bring out a firmware update instead of a MKv, that way I get a better camera for the cost of the MKiv :)

I tried the glue because someone on another video said the same thing, but it didn't work. there was this little piece that just came off instead. it almost worked and then the piece came off.

There is another way to do it but it could damage your battery and make you not able to use it again so first you need a fork metal one second you need to open your door to the camera battery three on the side you should see a little rubber thing and then open that and start just trying to pry it out with a fork

It always pays to buy quality when you use rechargeable batteries I prefer bridge cameras that use the more reliable and easier to get AA batteries l learned this years ago when my mother' got me my first camera Which was a Konica a few months latter when flying to America I made the mistake of leaving the cheap batteries That the camera came with in the camera and packed it into my suitcase and yes you got the batteries Didn't react well to flying and leaked in the camera burning out all the electronics it ended up costing more to fix than buying a new camera even with the discount that I was given because the camera was still under warranty after then I have never used cheap batteries and always removed them from the camera before the any flight and have the camera as hand luggage and not in a suitcase
