Since you have an 80D, it has wifi on it. And if you have an iPhone or any type of Android, you can download the Canon App for free and use it as a remote as well.You can adjust f-stop, shutter & ISO as well as save the photos from your camera directly to your phone without importing to your computer and send them to your phone/web. Very Convenient

FYI for all my bloggers who use Wordpress - I personally use & highly recommend using StudioPress to make life so much easier. It's an add-on to Wordpress that handles site security, advanced SEO, and optimized performance, basically streamlines all the back-end tech stuff so you don't have to deal with it! I did a lot of youtube until college, then I gave away ALL of my equipment :\ so I'm starting all over. I really miss my Canon 60D :( Probably gonna get a rebel next... I remember having the nicest camera in college and now i'm completely downgrading! Anyway, thanks for all the tech recommendations :) OMFG the clap! This is genius! I am in the process of getting a mic but need to record audio like.. today. Ugh this is so good THANK YOU

Thank you sweetness, I am not a kid who understands all new tech(in my fifties) but I was a on air dj many years ago, all analogue you just cut the tape and spliced it, super easy, but watching so many vids to learn this I am doing an educational YT about certain drugs and it's an urgent calling so I need to know how to do this, I have no idea how to upload but will learn. Anyway after watching yours I don't have to look at any others except I know sound and I need a shotgun mic overhead for real big warm tones, but you just showed me everything I need to know to film them and find you refreshingly calm instead of everyone screaming and jumping like they are on crack or something. If I indeed get an audience they will be people whose nervous systems are shot so I have to talk softly, calmly and reassuring that's why the overhead. So thank you now I can get some sleep lol...

10:35. “Get the biggestt drive you can afford.” Remember folks, you can have a ton of speed, but if you go with a larger hard drive, patience is all that is required for those long renders! Besides, look into getting your rig setup with a “hardware or software raid”. Raided 0 hard drives will speed up your rendering!

I loved this video but I also have to suggest for editing video, custom build a desktop. I built one from the ground up with ASUS Z170 Deluxe Motherboard, I have 2TB SSD and 3TB Solid state additional storage drive (external USB style but housed inside the tower), 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, Intel i7 quad core processor, and ASUS GeForce GTX PCI express video card. Between that, the chill tower, the other drives and PC full size tower, I spent about $2,600 BUT with DDR4 RAM and USB 3.0 and 3.1 slots I am future proofed for awhile. There is never ANY lag and I can easily export videos to take and share on a laptop after they're processed. You will be amazed at how much faster you can download and upload files from your camera, produce video, and upload projects to memory stick or other hard drives. This is only a suggestion, but i don't see how anyone could go wrong. ♥

We use the Nikon D5600 for or camera and the Rode shot gun mic. So far it has been a great set up for us until we get larger. We started with natural light and found that we where not getting that great of quality in our videos. So we found some great light on amazon for pretty cheap and it was amazing how much better our videos look. As far as editing we tried Adobe premiere but we ended up going back to Imovie. It seemed to be a lot more user friendly. Our favorite think to use for thumbnails is Gimp. It is a free software that is as powerful as photo shop and there are a bunch of great how to videos for it.

@PrioritySurvival

Mama Yom SSD means Solid State Drive and is extremely fast, but is usually soldered onto the computer motherboard. But there are some external drives that are pretty close to SSD read and write speeds.
@davehyper7835
@davehyper7835 7 жыл бұрын
There are SSD external drives readily available but you will still be limited by the computers interface i.e USB 3.0 so your looking at transfer rates of approx 100mbps which is not really good for editing files from. As Aileen mentioned, get your files copied onto your computer hard disk and edit from there. When you are finished you can use the external drives to back up all the large video files thus making space on your computer for your next editing session. personally I use 2Tb or 3Tb standard external drives (not SSD) as you get so much more storage for your money and the only real difference is slightly longer file copying times. A small price to pay. And remember you'll always be limited by USB speeds and thunderbold interface on the macbook isn't much faster than usb 3.0..... Thanks Aileen for an awesome upload. excellent content!
@davehyper7835
@davehyper7835 7 жыл бұрын
SSD drives on USB 3.0 ports give you around 200mbps transfer so double the file transfer speed of a conventional drive..... check macworld article....www.macworld.com/article/2039427/how-fast-is-usb-3-0-really-.html

Thanks for saying that bit about stacking books and just getting it done. It's scary sometimes seeing how advanced video has gotten (meaning how great the quality is and how professional some stuff can look) on KZfaq, but even those guys started with crappy, horrendous video. Sure the bar is a little higher, people won't really accept those webcam videos now in 2017, or so I think, but there's still a little room for error when you're new and you should just do your thing. Also your hair, the red shirt and the background in the January Favorites 2017 look perfect together, super aesthetic.

How do you edit video off of your hard drive love ?
@Lisasplace

you just save all the files onto the harddrive and edit them on your computer/laptop.

Yeah, all the material and projects, you save those on the harddrive. You import the footage in the project that is on the harddrive. Otherwise the project won't see any footage and claims it as lost.

MFT equals poor low light and loads of noise. Also the video AF is incomparable to the 80d. The a6300 would have been a better alternative.

How do you edit videos using your hard external drive? Is your editing program on your computer? I'd be interested to know how you do that because it takes my videos a long time to render in iMovie (which is resident on my Macbook.) Thanks for any info on this.
@Paul-gy8zi
@Paul-gy8zi 6 жыл бұрын
The external HD is just another drive to the computer. But since it has to go thru the USB port it will not be fast. The best idea is to have an SSD as your O/S drive and use it to put your videos on. That way things are the fastest they can be. Then once you are finished copy all files to backup (an external drive).

I would recommend not editing off an external since its super slow. you always want to transfer, so edit in your main harddrive, if you have a second one set that to scratch disk so operating system and movie editing arent writing to same drive at same time, then transfer to external when you are done. this will be the fastest for workflow :) great video, thanks for sharing.

almost all external hard drives are spinning disks. these hard drives aren't very fast for copying/loading files. whenever you can you should edit off of your computers hard drive. if you'd like to still be able to edit of a external drive you'll need a ssd (solid state drive). Those cost much more but it is totally worth it.
@Paul-gy8zi
@Paul-gy8zi 6 жыл бұрын
Well external drives should be used for backup storage or slow retrieval storage ... but saying that if you video is a blog which is just a bunch of jump cuts then that probably won't slow the process down that much. Just be aware that traffic thru a USB is way slower than going to your computers local HD (preferably an SSD on your computer for O/S and to edit videos with is ideal)

Do not get a T6i! If you are going to buy a T6i, you can get a 70D for around the same price which is a small step down from the new 80D. The Ti's series are great and all, but if you want better stability then go with the 70D. If you have a little less to spend then go with the T5i or T4i!

What about the Still image quality of the 70D?Are they good as the nikon competitors??
@Flightguy69
@Flightguy69 8 жыл бұрын
Labib Hoque I have not used the Nikon cameras myself, but I have associates of mine who have used both the 70D and Nikon cameras and say they are equally matched when it comes to image quality! I myself cannot attest to that because I never used Nikon! I have been using Canon since Canon started making cameras! :) I have four 70D's which I love and so far I have found no reason to upgrade or switch! I just suggest people buy one of those over a Ti' series because the 70D's are about the same price!
@Labib117
@Labib117 8 жыл бұрын
+Flightguy69 Do you think The T6s is a better buy for the money?I'm telling that because 70D is li'l bit expensive with lenses and other accesories honestly.
@Flightguy69
@Flightguy69 8 жыл бұрын
Labib Hoque Being the T6s is about a 100.00 cheaper and is slightly better in specs then the 70D, I would purchase the T6s! I am looking at the camera bodies only! 70D is 799.00 and the T6s is 679.00 www.42photo.com/Product/canon-eos-rebel-t6s-24-2-megapixel-dslr-camera-body-/113392 The specs are generally a little better with the T6s so if I was a new buyer and starting out, then I would go with the T6s! sometimes you can find some great package deals on eBay!

+Flightguy69 this will be my first.I thinking to buy the T6s body with 18-135mm STM & 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens + Maybe 32gb card(is there'll be storage problem if i use 16gb,will it run out fast?)+An extra battery(the battery life seems poor)+if i can then a mic like rode videomic go and a Bag.Didn't thought of a tripod yet. What do you think about this package?Is it good or it needs some modifications?
