You are going through something harder than most people will ever understand, and yet you still say that you are priveledged, that others have it worse ... you are an inspiration in every way. I can only dream of ever having even a fraction of the strength, courage, and selflessness that you have. This world will never, never be good enough to deserve such a wonderful human being as you.

Watching this 6 years later, heart wrenching. And for her to say other people have it much harder than her, knowing she has a terminal illness. She has left an important legacy and has had a massive ripple effect on the world.

My mom passed away 3 days ago from the brain tumor she had , she couldn't walk or talk and sometimes couldn't recognize us "her kids" , it was and still very painful and so unfair! RIP to all those who lost their cancer battle

I am so sorry Sofia, I just stumbled upon your channel by chance and watching you and your strength has really put a lot of things in my own life into perspective. I was recently diagnosed as epileptic, an easily treatable condition that most people live with and deal with and I can't even deal with it and have become agoraphobic because of it. However watching you and your passion and determination for life has made me realise as big as I THINK my problem is, in the grand scheme of things it's not a big issue and there are people with bigger problems that live their lives to the max. People like Sophia are the reason why I study my ass off everyday to become a doctor. To have a chance at saving a beautiful life like hers. Update: I started medical school Aug 2020. I'll come back in 2024 with a 2nd update. Keeping Sophia as my inspiration for the work I do. Even in heaven she touches my heart on a daily basis. 2024 Update!! Today is Match Day in the USA, where all the medical students find out where and what they will be training after medical school. I will be training to become an ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON... one of the very few women accepted into the most difficult to enter field of medicine in the USA. My training will include orthopedic oncology dealing in the surgical management of bone cancers like the one that took Sophia away from the world all too soon. I appreciate all the kind words in the comments 🙏 I'll be graduating residency in 2029... should we keep the updates going? 🤔

Sophie said it best. " Life isn't Fair" those words are so true. No one should have to live through the pain of cancer. Especially if your 14 years old. 14 years old!!! Almost all of us watching Sophie today, did NOT live w/ A Death Sentence hanging over our heads @ age 14. Me Personally, I was in The 9th Grade. A Freshman in HS. Going to FB Games, going to my first dance. My biggest problem @ 14, was trying to ask a Girl Out. Not going through cancer. Think about that for a moment. Think about that when you can't get your way. When someone says, NO, you can't do this, or you can't do that. Think about how selfish we are, or I mean, how selfish I was @ that time. But I know that Sophie is at peace, finally! She's resting peacefully now. I don't know, or can't I speak for another person, but I know Sophie thought me so much about life. She thought me what being selfish means. I know one thing, i'm a much better Person today, than I was before I became to know Sophie. RIP sweet Baby Girl. All 14 Years Old you were upon your final. Even finding it years later, Sofia has made me feel so much less alone tonight. I battled cancer in my teen years and survived only to be diagnosed with a degenerative terminal neuromuscular disease that took over in my 20’s, now leaving me unable to walk, talk, or eat without a feeding tube, and I could relate to so much to the things she was saying. It’s scary, terrifying, but all I want is to live the fullest life I can with whatever amount of time I have left. Life truly is so unfair, it’s so cruel, cold, but there’s so much beauty still too, and I’m determined to see and experience the most I can. Thank you Sofia. I came here just to say how impressed I am by Sofia and what she did in the toughest of times. There are so many brave young women here that make these incredible videos and it stuns me at how they do it. I am sad to see the end and actually stopped this at 50 seconds to see the comments and then saw it was over- cried a bit- then continued. RIP Angel.

To all of the people finding this video and thinking they are too late, you are not at all too late. This video that Sofia left for us has become, for me, a valuable anchor. Something that I come back to, over an over, to weigh against whatever it is I am going through in my life. I have Multiple Sclerosis, and it is difficult, and when I feel hopeless, I come back here again, and I remember Sofia and her suffering. Not just the fact that this horrible thing happened, but that she was so brave, so honest, and even here, when there is no hope left for her, she is still thinking about the suffering of others in the world. What amazing lessons she left us. Take these lessons, go out there, like she said, and live the best life you possibly can. Give life everything you have got and get everything you can out of it! We are all flesh and bone, and in the end, we all die, and many will suffer, but the beauty of life, the beauty of Sofia, is so worth clinging too, protecting, cherishing and above all NEVER taking for granted. I watched this in the waiting room at mass general just before my 12th bone marrow biopsy today. I've always known how lucky I am and after watching this I know I'll never forget it. An incurable cancer diagnosis, 32 cycles of chemo, 1 stem cell transplant, 1 t-cell transplant, 4 rounds of radiation, 12 bone marrow biopsies and 4 years of misery yet I'm one of the lucky ones. I've never complained and for Sofia's sake, I never will. Stay strong beautiful and live every day like everyone should...like there's no tomorrow.

Don't give up Honey...I was sent home to die in 2014 and I know how scary and tiring it is. I just take each day and try to be happy. Making KZfaq videos makes me feel like someone cares and is listening to me. I feel connected! A person from New Zealand gave me some advice and I have been doing that since they shared it with me. I never have posted much about it all... but what people don't realize is we sit and think about whats going on inside our bodies and that makes it even scarier!! I try not to think about the logistics!! I wish I had money to do things with my life but disability is so low in the US! its crazy! My wish was to go to New Zealand. I sometimes pretend I am on a beach in my mind. Sorry for the rambling...Scattered thoughts! Just take each day and try to find the good in each day. My videos are like my happy point each day.
