Season 3 of the podcast continues with our latest series #MyCareerStory.
On the first episode of the new season, I sat down with newly published author Fulufhelani Mashaba to talk about her personal finance journey and her new title "Mind Your Cents: A Practical Guide to Financial Wellness".
Growing up as an A-student and later a record-setting matriculant in the Limpopo in 2015, Fulufhelani shares how this identity was challenged when she was pursuing her studies in Actuarial Sciences at the University of Cape Town and as she later transitioned into the world of work. She highlights the importance of having a strong support system, citing her family, friends and mentors as key contributors to her academic success.
Her book dotes lessons from her own personal finance journey and shares her passion for financial wellness and education. Fulufhelani is an actuarial specialist, personal finance content creator and a One Young World ambassador.

This is an amazing discussion. Career-wise, I learned a valuable lesson: I am in the driver's seat. I particularly loved the quote, "Things work if we work on them," which emphasizes the importance of being action-oriented. Financially, my key takeaway is that we possess the wealth, but we simply need to preserve it by saving a portion of our income. With this mindset, we gain clarity on our final goals and understand that achieving them requires long-term planning and discipline. Thank you Mbali and Fulufhelani❤
