Edit: Just hit 50,000 subscribers! Thank you guys so much for your support of the channel. It means the world to me that you guys enjoy this stuff as much as I do. It's a lot of work filming, editing, and getting content out there, but seeing the channel grow makes it all worth it. THANK YOU!
JUST NEEDS A CLUTCH el oh el. Absolutely unbelievable that this car ran and drove! Engine in the cobra is removed and we find some VERY interesting things inside. MUCH more to come on this car!

It's been said 1000 times by now, but I'll say it again. I love the in-depth process of of what you do. Most "big" youtubers skip the little shit and it leaves everyone in the dark. I'd rather watch 58 minutes of you doing this, than 4 10 min videos about what some shop is doing any day. Remember us when you get your 1 Million sub plaque. Been here since like 10k, and you're the best of the best bro. Keep killing it! Also, as a 4th gen camaro guy, I'd love to see you fix a cheap 4th gen ls car next!

i just looked at social blade and you can see this channel is just about to really take off... there's a noticeable uptick in daily traffic and subs which comes from hitting that threshold where there's enough traffic to drive more traffic which only happens from grinding out a big sub base or if the stars align and you get a viral video ... anyway i can see this channel becoming a full time gig in the next year or so if he keeps it up

I originally found your channel when your Cadillac CTS-V video came up as a recommended video on the home screen of my KZfaq account/channel. Your car rebuild and refreshment planning and hard work are excellent. It's immensely satisfying for a car enthusiast like myself to watch you, in your home garage, transform historical cars of the 2000s to way beyond their original factory condition. I think that I can safely speak for all other viewers, too, in this regard because they also feel the same way I do. I'd like to see a home garage mechanic/engineer like yourself get a small mention or write-up in Road and Track or Car and Driver magazine, so you could get the recognition that you've earned, increase your channel subscriber and viewer numbers, and ideally get some sponsorships.

That’s tough. Also tough not to consider a Gen 2 Mustang Coyote swap at this point given what all you need to replace. I wouldn’t use any of that rotating assembly if it were me and those are the early C heads that have very little value like you mentioned. I wouldn’t run anything earlier than a DB casting head. Good luck with whatever you decide

Ya, I have stopped buying “GOOD DEALS” on Facebook and Craigslist. My trust in humanity in this area is toast. I’m anxious to see you do this right. Curious if you’ll ditch the solid rear for the IRS. The trans is a good bonus. I don’t think the red Z needed as much work as this cobra. This thing needs the interior worked as well as the entire drive train. Makes for an awesome Sullivan video series though. I’m in sir.

Crazy. Im sure you know this but a few things: 1. Replace those bushing in the lower 2. Replace all of those idlers with a high quality billet ones - the stockers will crack and explode 3. Use a Ford performance head changing kit as well as ford performance timing kit 4. For those intake to head gaskets use Mahle brand as theyre stamped Ford 5. Those headers look like Mac which they no longer make 6. Replace the water pump now while you have access to it 7. Look into a coolant crossover for the back of the heads while the motor is out and easier to access Just a few things on top of my head that may help later

Hell yeah, dude. I'm here for the long haul. My garage is currently in the same condition as yours, with my 302W boat motor torn down to the long block right in front of my 2V. In the middle of rod bearing and head gasket changeout since I had some milky oil and mild rod knock. Mild winter rebuild for next season.

As someone who has had a micro piece of metal lodged in his cornea from taking off an exhaust I would highly advise you find a good pair of safety glasses to wear during disassembly of any rusted parts that are above your head (and really even when looking down; they can fly up). having that removed from your cornea is no fun.

Great videos Chris! I bought an Australian-built 2002 SVT Cobra (they do exist!) knowing it had a faint rattle in the left bank at 101000km, thinking it was probably timing chain or lash adjusters/lifters. In the end it has been 3 spun bearings on LHS (US Drivers side). The final parts list was; - timing chain kit - new pistons, rods and rings - higher volume oil pump - higher volume water pump - dual core radiator & hoses (the engine was out so why not) - new catalytic converters (same same) - big end bearings - main bearings - bolts, gaskets, seals etc - lash adjusters - harmonic balancer - alternator - coolant bypass kit and engine dropped out and put back together twice! Spent as much as I paid initially. Unfortunately I don't have the skills or time that you do to do it myself. But she runs like a dream now! Loving your work and can relate to the need for multiple beverages......

Man. . . That’s a lot of damage. Would you consider doing a Coyote swap with a Whipple to it ? Probably going to cost about the same rebuilding it. Coyote swap Cobra sounds pretty good. You already got the transmission. Don’t think it would de-value the car being it’s over 100,000 mile car to begin with. Something to consider.

Hey Chris, love the video's mate. I had a similar low compression issue with a 5.4L Boss Engine in a Ford Falcon XR8 here in Australia. My issue was a burnt exhaust valve on #8 cylinder. Just an FYI to look up and have a read of Ford Technical Service Bulletin TSB 06-5-13. It's a Ford USA publication. It may not be relevant, but there has been about 4~5 updates to the heads. Earlier revisions included Spark Plug threads, however later revisions include improved coolant flow in the rear of the cylinder heads. My understanding is the 2C5E-6C064-DC head was the final '05 revision and also the FRPP head. Hope this helps, all the best mate.

Now Chris. To say you are tight on room? Is an understatement. I'm going to do you a real solid. I have an unused two car garage. I will fly out to your place. And drive your C8 back to my house in Minnesota. And store it in spot 1. Before you thank me. I will fly back out to your place and drive the twin turbo C7 back home and neatly store it in the second spot of my garage. Now with all that room? The viewers would feel like they are more a part of the Mustang build. Probably tripling your subscriptions. It a win win. I figure we go way back. When you had 28,000 subscribers. It's just a good friend helping a good friend. So, when should I book the flight? I'm thinking the sooner the better.

Man. This is so awesome. Every time I watch your videos I just wanna jump through and help out. Can’t wait to retire and set up a garage at home myself, and a car to work on and track.

@@ChrisSullivan69 I have driven BMW for the last 30 years and I love to turn wrenches on them. For the most part they design them to be fairly easy to work on. However, now with all of the electronics on them about all I can are oil changes and brake jobs. But I am almost 75 so I guess that is not too bad. I have saved a ton of money over the years doing a lot of my own work.

It's unfortunate but it's time for a stronger rebuild. I personally am into my engine completely done about 6,500 all forged everything Wiesco pistons flatop -3cc. Punched .20 over and stroked with all arp studs and mains as well as main side bolts aggressive cams from comp dont know the specifications on the cams tho hurricane oil pump Ford performance timing kit and complete head job. With an aluminum block. 2004 Mach 1 overheated and spun a rod bearing at 108,000 miles I feel your pain I want to see what I can get naturally aspirated my machinest said he can easily get 600 so well see. Goodluck on your rebuild and will be watching and waiting for more content
