Great news that it is fixed. My L359 is going back to the garage in Jan as I have fumes in the cabin. Checked the injectors and fuel return Orings all fine so suspect it is the manifold. Tad miffed as i had a trip to Salisbury Plains planned for the 30th. The joys of older vehicles. Would be good to hear Katie's thoughts on the Jag at some point. Such a nice car.

Glad you got to the bottom of the coolant issue. I think it's quite common to have a problem with the thermostat housing on the V8 Jags. I had the same thing on my XK 4.2 V8. Overall though I found mine very reliable over 5 years now and I trust it for UK and European road trips. Hope you get to enjoy many trips in yours. Merry Christmas!

Great progress Joel, and still a lot of car for the money.. at least petrol is much cheaper than diesel but the cold weather and short journeys won’t help. Fixing than steering wheel will lift the interior. Looking forward to some road trips in the New Year! Are you planning any mods or enhancements?

I think on that model you can adjust throttle and foot brake so you can reach the pedals a bit more comfortably, 👍👍👍👍 and put this into the memory seats button when using the vehicle......ps you may find the info in the manual or google,on the steering column there should be a round plastic switch that will adjust column and pedals .

Lovely car to have on the drive ! I'd say at that age and being a complicated Jag and with petrol so expensive , its best use these day is summer weekend / project car ? If anyone absolutely needs to get to work everyday then it's Pixo FTW 😀

Great video! I did have a Jaguar XE around six months ago and like you mention the anxiety is a real thing on a luxury car such as that. I sold that car for a more sensible Skoda Fabia and I miss it so much. That car really made me feel special. But I feel it was the right thing to do. Nothing is cheap on cars such as this! So glad you have got a Jag, absolutely love them! So my question to you is how do you deal with that anxiety? Or at least justify having a car like this?

Just drive it Joel, enjoy it. Share it with us. I would love to have such a car. I have a Jag XF, an X-type and a 1964 Buick Riviera, and each of them is a unique driving experience. And I love them all.

I hear what you are saying about V8, ( and v6) motors, I have owned them all and driven them all as a work vehicles over the years. What IS important is the cost of running them they are way off the scale these days, no matter how many miles you hardly use the vehicle for. I would argue my 56 plate Volvo S60 D5 offers all those comforts your Jag offers except it will do Portsmouth to Manchester and return and use for a good few days before refill on a full tank of Diesel which is costing £100 per tank unfortunately these days but still tops a petrol

Q & A: Regarding flying, are you sill wanting to get your PPL? If so have you done much aviating lately?

I’ve found cars with loads of seat adjustments are never comfy. In my Civic I adjusted it once when I bought it and not moved it in 5 years.

The Jag V8 is prone to eating through thermostat housings. So persistence paid off. You are dead right about the analogue controls - much better. I have a new F Pace P400 and it’s fabulous EXCEPT for the bloody computer which continually has problems. It is back at my long suffering dealer (Barrett’s of Ashford - Brilliant folk) every month with stupid temporary faults Re fuel consumption, when you get funds take it in for a Terraclean that can make a big difference. You may agree with me on this one as you have had one before but I have found the car with the best seating position is the BMW Z4 E85 it just feels like the whole car is hugging itself around you so you feel at one with it.

I find these vids with older/cheaper (bangers) alot more interesting then newer stuff performance cars. For really comfy seats checkout Rover75 seats... yeah 20mpg is abit much with my Rover 75 diesel I chomp abit anything below 40...but wow I would like a V8...

'99 gps 😅😂 my '16 gps is so out of date it gets me nowhere in Europe 😅😂 but I use it mainly to have an idea of the (possible) road ahead. Also about the seating. Just start from scratch. Put the seat in some totally useless position and try again.

Loving the videos, keep up the good content! For the number plate if you warm it, the sticky pads and the bit of the boot you’re sticking it to then hold it in place for a minute or two it should stay on no problem. It does look like you have two grommits that sit proud and may hinder it sticking flush tho. Hair dryer or heat gun to provide the heat 👍

You could take the car to get an economy remap, that should get you better MPG, there are some companies that come to you at home.

Not a Jag, I took a chance on a Toyota Alphard V6 executive lounge. It had a genuine 30k on the clock and practically immaculate.
