i dont know if anyone clearified this in the comments yet, but this song was made for mikey ( bassist and gerard's brother) when he was away getting help for his depression. gerard and mikey are super close so obviously that had a huge affect on him. so much even that he was tempted to drown himself im the pool at the mansion they were currently staying at( paramour mansion, which is haunted) there is also more stuff on the topic of that. mikey got put in the most haunted room in the mansion that was light only by a blue light, which gave the room an even spookier eerie glow. creepy stuff would happen like doors opening and closing infront of them and bobs faucet would turn on by itself. being in a place like that gave mikey anxiety and panic attacks. while he was away the band was expirencing a creative low. it also made gerard super depressed to were he wouldnt do any thing and not shower or change clothes either. it almost got so bad that the band was about to split up then. and even worse mikey told gerard that he felt like he only had to options, too kill himself or leave the band entirely. i also think the lyric " is it hard understanding im incomplete?" was showing how lonely he felt without his brother around.

Funny that you mentioned David Gilmour, the album this is off is 'The Black Parade' and it's a concept album, a little like 'The Wall' where every song is related to the same theme. The Uniform is because they're members of the marching band that plays in the Black Parade.

They wore these outfits all of the Black Parade era and when they went on their last tour before their break up they wore them because the tour was titled The Black Parade Is Dead which if they were to ever get back together, they would no long perform anything from WTTBP ever again.

I just really appreciate how open minded you are to knew music. My mother who is a bit younger than you just automatically dislikes anything music created after her twenties and it's frustrated me my whole life, because whenever I found new music I enjoyed and wanted to share with her she would tell me it was bad. So I really find it cool that you're so open minded. Even if you end up disliking some of the music you hear, at least you give it a chance. As for My Chemical Romance, two of my favorite songs are 'Teenagers' and 'Sing'. 'Sing is quite different from what you've heard so far, because it was from a different album, but I still enjoy it.

The band had things we like to call "eras." They took on different looks for each album (which they only released four...): Bullets, Revenge, Black Parade, and Danger Days. The lead singer, Gerard Way, has a tendency to change his hair a lot, lol. :P

This is a really late comment, but I just found your channel and am really glad you reacted to this song. I haven't heard MCR since I started highschool. (2006-2007). I was a stereotypical cringe wannabe Goth. I was obsessed with them and for some reason my lifestyle and music taste 180 degree flipped to a stereotypical cringe chav (listening to rave/gabber). It's crazy how I still remember these guys and their lyrics as it's what I listened to during my coming to age. Now over 10 years later I'm an adult out of school for a few years. A generic person contributing to society (something the younger me would be embarrassed of). These guys take me back to a simpler time in my life when my biggest stress was just fitting in.

By the way, you should try reacting Weight of the World by Young Guns. Despite the utter corniness of the title, the song is well written, it has a fairly distinct sound, and the lead singer has an awesome voice. Keep doing what you do! :)

When they first formed, they wanted to do something other than the usual "love song" type music. Most of their albums even follow a 'concept' w The Black Parade being the most ambitious. 2 albums had "uniform style" costumes and 1 had comic book character attire.

The Uniforms were worn when they played as their alter ego "The Black Parade" they played as these nameless characters for about a year to two years before they stopped this happened in 2006 (the year the album came out) and how you were saying in the black parade reaction video it was inspired by alot of 70s music such as The Beetles SGt. Peppers, david bowie, and queens night at the opera.

It's the uniform of the Black Parade. Famous Last Words is a song from the album The Black Parade, the band's 3rd album which revolves around a character known simply as the patient, it speaks of the passage into the afterlife by the patient, and of the memories of his life, in the song Welcome to The Black Parade death comes for him in the form of a parade, since the patient's fondest memory is being a child and going into the city with his father to see a marching band/parade, the reason death appears as the Parade is because it's Gerard's way of seeing death, that it appears to a dying person as the thing they remember most fondly, it's why in several of the music videos for the Black Parade they dress in those uniforms, because for this album they created the alter-ego of the Black Parade, performing live in costume as the Black Parade until 7/10/07, (the seventh of October, 2007.) Now, with this music video, drummer Bob Bryar sustained second and third degree burns on the back of his legs, yet persisted in staying until the recording was finished. This burn later resulted in gangrene. Way tore muscles in his leg and foot when Frank tackled him while he was in a kneeling position, leaving him in a hospital for several days. Way recalls that, during the filming, they were all "mortified" from the engulfing flames surrounding the set. After the stay in the hospital, the doctors refused to let them perform in San Diego as the band originally planned. Ray Toro fractured his fingers also during shooting and Bob Bryar received multiple blisters around his hand as a result of extreme playing over a long period of time.

omg, I love your mcr reaction videos. So MCR changed their image/pageantry with each album. The Black Parade (aka death) costumes were inspired by the Beatles' Sgt Pepper costumes. The lyrics were written at the time when the band was going through a rough time and facing probable break up.
