Oh my goodness, You must watch this video to the end to really appreciate "My Chemical Romance" and the Ghost of You.
It is absolutely intense! There is no describing the heroism that was ingrained in the "Greatest Generation" during the World Wars.
Men and Women of HONOR! So committed to their country and their freedom to live that they were willing to die! There is very little of that left in our country today.
Super amazing song! I loved it. These guys are awesome!

Their performances acting were so real because Mikey and Gerard really have a connection, they're brothers... I think it was hard to record. And Mikey got a gold star in Famous last words and Welcome to the black parade from The Black Parade album because he ‘died’ in the ghost of you video, that is a song from their album three cheers for sweet revenge that came before tbp. MCR’s albums universe is kinda connected and that's why you may see in comments people begging you to listen to albums in sequence. Especially The Black Parade. Danger days too. They have their storyline.

You got the wrong idea in the end of the video, the music video is pretty ANTI-war, not PRO-war. Most of the wars the US was envolved (excluding WWII) were pointless wars, all these wars are just the US trying to expand it's influence and capital upon other countries, imposing them to be submissive to them, because war is PROFITABLE for the rich people in the US (and those are the real rulers of your country). Also, selfishness is the mainly cause of US military interventions. In the video, Gerard is singing about losing someone in war, and that person is his brother, it has NOTHING to do with patriotism. Don't take this comment as an offense against you or your views, but patriotism (for what I know) is not about completely destroying other countries for the sake of a profit. Militarism is so rooted into the minds of US's citizens that it sincerely scares the sh*t out of me. And your country is internally collapsing because of something called: class struggle

I love this comment. Thank you for it. It is a great discussion topic. We all have opinions regarding WAR. The one opinion that we all have is that we all hate war. No one wants to die or have loved ones die in a war. It is truly a last resort. I am speaking in regards to a country. Obviously, there are religions that are ok with killing because they are rewarded for doing so in their religion. I am speaking in a secular society within a country. I 100% agree with you that mankind is a selfish secular society in general because they live better than the Kings of the past. However, there is an amazing underlying current within the American society of compassion. Americans give more away to third world countries than any other nation on the planet. During WWII there was an evil dictator that almost took over the world. It came very close. History shows how the countries realized that they had to respond, you would be amazed. They had to step up to save the world. Those that died for us should be hailed as absolute HERO's. They were willing to risk it all and die to protect their families. We are all free because of their sacrifice. The most selfish thing we could have done was to ignore the world as it was taken over and countless millions slaughtered. For me, I think we need to get back to caring for others. We need to love one another. That means to become unselfish and serve each other. That was the feeling I got in this video. These boys were not selfish, they went, fought, and died for us. I believe we are losing that. We are too selfish. We will take out our cell phones and record someone being killed instead of risking harm to ourselves. We should be jumping in and risking it all to save someone. Those are the true hero's. We need to get back to that. That is my point in this video.

he already said it, but if there ever ws a justified war, it would be ww2, ww1, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Iran, Syria, even the flipping Banana wars, we can argue about, but ww2 needed to be fought, not for the sake of the few but for the many, true, the boot maker and and the gun builder got their kickback, but i think if you asked a jew, or a Italian or a Russian or a Frenchman Or the Chinese or the Okinawan, they would say it was worth it, not because they found some semblance of profit, but because they kept their lives, and that mekes it worth it, i agree that this is anti war, but saying that ww2 was some how a bourgeoisie conspricay undermines the history, and the facts, and that, is what "scares the sh*t out of me" (edit) I should clarify, some wars are justified, some are not, it is not our job to judge he people of yesterday for fighting the war, it is our job to understand why and if they had to fight it, and avoid those mistakes, that is what history is about.

i knew a simple soldier boy, who grinned at life in empty joy, slept soundly through the lonesome dark, and whistled early with a lark. in winter trenches, cowed and glum, with crumps, and lice, and lack of rum, he put a bullet through his head and no one spoke of him again. you smug-faced crowds with kindling eye, who cheer when soldier lads march by, sneak home and pray you'll never know, the hell where youth and laughter go.

I collect military items, and so I appreciate the authenticity of the uniforms and equipment in this video. I got into an online chat with a few guys who participated in this video, fellow collectors and reenactors, who were upset at how the beach landing scene ended up. Apparently, it was their understanding that they weren't supposed to actually get wet - that they would be stepping from the landing craft directly on to the beach. However, there was issue with the water depth and the landing craft could only get so close to the beach, and it ended up taking on a lot of sea water. The result was that many of the guys' uniforms and equipment ended up soaked with salt water. One collector told me that he had an actual WW2 medic's equipment bag - containing the actual original bandage dressings and other medical gear - which ended up getting soaked. Also, some of the collector/reenactor rifles ended up in the salt water with the landing craft. The video production people offered only a small compensation for the damaged weapons, not understanding that these were authentic Second World War weapons. That all being stated, I think this is a fantastic video, and the fact that the military items aren't the typical 'tossed-together' made-up mish-mash of military stuff really made this video stand out. Also, overhead view where the dance floor segues to the beach assault was cleverly and effectively done.

I am against war. But I have a family and I love my country. I believe that our society has lost its love for one another. We are a selfish society. We are complacent and apathetic. A house divided cannot stand. This video reminded me how the honor and love of the greatest generation gave us this life we live today. If it were not for them, we would be in bondage today. I really hope our generation can stand up to that same scenario if it comes again. But, I am not sure because of our complacency and apathy.

You kinda sorta really misunderstood the song. The song itself isn't explicitly about war and more about death itself, but the video is very much anti war and about what those soldiers go through, the people they lose and the people that lose them. Mcr as a band is very much anti war

Yea, I can see that angle too. We are all anti war to be honest. No one wants war. It just happens in life. From the dawn of humanity. The part I feel we lost, was the honor we used to have in protecting each other. Case in point, when someone is getting beat up in the streets, our first reactions are to pull out our cell phones to record it. The first reaction should be to run and stop it no matter what the cost. We are missing that honor. Everyone used to have it, now we just call those people heroes because it is so rare.

You're upset because teenage boys are playing xbox in their family homes and not dying in their thousands on the beaches of Normandy? "We gotta get back to that" You are what's wrong with the US, my guy.

No, you missed the point. Listen again. Listen without your bias and hear what was said. Those men died for you. You are free today to have your wine,, drive your sports car and play games.. Because they willingly fought with honor for others to be free. It is a very unselfish thing to give up your life for others. We call them Hero's. Hero's risk it all for someone else's well being and it may cost them their life in doing so. It is not dying that makes them the Hero. It is the mindset in serving others and caring for others that makes them the hero. It is the love they have for their family and friends. My question to you is this: would you die for someone you love? If the answer is no, then you are the problem that we currently have in the USA. That was my point. We need to get back to being unselfish and love one another.
