Nigel Benn talks to Dr Barry Connell about his childhood. The two-time former world champion is keen to find out if his early experiences - including his brother's violent death when Benn was eight - could have led to the bouts of suicidal depression he battled at the height of his success

Nigel Benn was not the best boxer in the world but he had the most heart he was a warrior. My favourite ever fighter. I remember being a 8 year old watching him fight on ITV free of charge those glory days have gone. Top bloke & a amazing human being.

I met Nigel last sat in Southport. This guy is a legend, such a nice fella, had more than enough time for all his fans and very humble. true champion.

Grew up with Nigel and i went to school with Antony his brother his from a top family his older brothers were mates with my older brothers in ilford i remember wen his brother got killed we were all in bits they have been through a lot in life but always stayed good people proper mate .

Nigel benn is an inspiration. A tough live he lived, but he came out on the other side, and now seems to be at peace with himself. God Bless!

just read nigels book and it was a great read.exellent upload m8 coz it gave me the chance to see the pictures of the story i read.he was one real hard bastard in and out of the ring.

This guy is amazing, such a great fighter and so glad to hear he surrendered to Jesus, praise God! Love this guy. This guy wouldve been an AWESOME match for Marvin hagler, tommy hearns or Duran!!

Trashfish TV I think he would have beaten Hearns and Duran, but I don’t think he would have beaten hagler, although his outright fierce nature and determination would have made it haglers toughest fight.

Tony Ayliffe no he couldn't take a punch and reminded me of glass chin Frank Bruno and when he got hit he stayed hit but the difference with Nigel is he always got back up and took more punishment and normally lost.
