A large mirror over the couch? Just an idea. Everything looks just beautiful! I especially love your tea kettle. :) GREAT job of not collecting unnecessary items. Blank space gives the eye someplace to rest, and you have mastered the concept. Thanks for sharing!

I love how everything is so tidy. It was relaxing to watch. How you can manage with that amount of towels shows that you are indeed minimalist. (I am not there yet with my family 😅)

I really admire the hotel-like beauty of your place. We're on two opposite poles, though. Minimalism scares me as everything looks ready to pack and move to another location. For my peace of mind I need to feel rooted in a place eg. with old photos, souvenirs, vintage furnitute etc. I think you'd feel as uncomfortable in my house as I would in yours, haha! ❤❤❤

That makes perfect sense. I don't won any souvenirs or vintage items, so I can easily let go of what I have should I ever need to - except for my keepsake box which holds photos, a couple of items my daughter wore when she was a baby, special letters, of course my jewelery, handbags and perfumes would be coming with me, and all of my clothing. Everything else would be replaced.:)

@@thesimplechiclife I live in a post communist country where we tend to hold on to things just in case they come in handy. Those in their early twenties keep buying and selling, but the majority of people upcycle.

DREAM ! I have a goal of going reaaaally as basic as we can get when it comes to our household. I can only count how many clothes i have ... i keep a lot of things for sentimental reasons.. but i am getting better. I try to declutter whatever every month.. and the apartment becomes echo-ey every month too hahahaha... i do have to say i get tempted a lot to buy whatever console table and whatnot. But... i haven’t added anything so fAr 😁

yes it can be so hard to battle between buying something you think you'll like, an just appreciating the open space. I usually opt to leave things open and blank - but things I am accumulating a bit more of are handbags, perfumes, and the odd unnecessary piece of decor. But if it brings me happiness and it still doesn't look cluttered, I'm happy with it.

The tour was lovely! You would go crazy if you stepped into my house! My husband collects toys and we have bookcases full of books (librarians son) and movies (his work industry). You and my 12 year old daughter on the other hand, have the same aesthetic. I do have a question about whether you have considered a cat tower for your kitty. I have two cats and they each have their own. They spend a lot of time enjoying them.

I definitely have considered a tower for her and I'm still contemplating it. You're right I think she would love it! I just dont know the best place to put it. And i'm sure I woudn't go crazy in your home don't worry haha I just might want to help you organize lol:P

Ms Ilythia I love your home decor videos! I saw a mirror at bed, bath, and beyond that goes with your style and isn’t expensive. I don’t remember the exact price but I’m sure it was under $100. 🤍

I applaud u I try so hard not to collect a lot of stuff in my home but it seems like the more I try the more stuff I accumulate 🤦🏽‍♀️

it takes some time - I got to this state after about 5 years or more... I started getting into decluttering and minimalist living in about 2016 and it can be difficult not to "re-accumulate" after culling down.

You and my husband would get along GREAT. Our house isn't cluttered by any means but we have a toddler sooo.....TOYS....everywhere...ALL THE TIME. I'm not necessarily a minimalist but as I get get older I find that I want to have less and less things. I totally agree that cluttered spaces = cluttered mind and when we bought our home we agreed we wouldn't have a ton of furniture and appliances or even decorations. Your home is definitely calming 😌

I remember those days!!! And if/when I have another, I'll be there again, and that's totally alright with me. When my daughter was little I still kept the place pretty tidy, cleaning at the end of the day, only to let it be made a bit messy again the next. :). The joys of motherhood!! And thank you so much!

I'm starting to see a little more stuff here & there 😅 but don't worry, nothing looks cluttered or anything! Everything looks nice :) do you have 2 daughters or just 1? I love see these types of video, esp your minimalism ones! Pls don't take any offense but I have noticed some anxiety, jitteriness and stress in your voice... I couldn't find the name of it but I just googled that one and yes that's exactly the one! Its so comfortable but not cat friendly - if your cats rip around and run, they're little claws will destroy the fibers i no time.

I threw out my salt lamp when I read they are very toxic to cats (and dogs). They can cause salt toxicity - vomiting, seizures, death. I think you have a kitty so wanted to mention this!

Home decor is every bit as personal as fragrance. Your style isn’t for me, just like there are some fragrances that I love that others wouldn’t wear. Keeps things interesting!

no she didn't use it - she ended up bringing her stuff to the basement and playing there with her friends, the room was sitting there vacant with a couple items just taking up space. So I converted it! :)
