@@EdmonJiddou I'm having a right hemicolectomy on wednesday (9-8-21) to remove a couple of large polyps that were discovered via colonoscopy in january and I'm absolutely terrified.....my biggest fears are complications during and after surgery and my greatest fear of all is winding up with an ostomy.

I had small bowel resection surgery three weeks ago, suddenly became violently ill on the middle of the night, being on my own, I was vomiting and my stomach was huge, finally when I got to the hospital and seen by doctor's it turned out to be emergency surgery, they tried Laparoscopic but it was too bad I was cut from the top of the belly button right down. My energy level is a 4.5, pain is about a 5, but getting better every day, I was going to the gym every second day and I won't be able to go back for another 6 weeks. What I have learned from this is DIET, having a high fibre diet is imperative. Wishing you all the best 🙏

Stumbled upon your video. Very wise to document the before & after. Wish I had done that. I'm a Pilates teacher, and having my abs cut into, sort of freaked me out. Get your surgery done. Once you recover, consult with doctor to add fiber supplement in your diet. Ask doctor on prebiotics and prebiotic supplentation. Don't eat fried food, oily food, greasy food, eat fruits and vegetables. Exercise and yes stop eating gluten ( wheat products) it blend foods like rice, banana, rice crackers in moderation. Totally avoid caffeine, alcohol, citrus fruits, lemonade and carbonated drinks etc these things make stools acidic. Take good care, sleep well and you will never get cancer again.. Exercise take vitamin c and fish oil

Good morning. I had a partial colectomy on the 21 of this month. The day after surgery, I got up and walked around the ward at least three times a day. I will be 69 in May, but you would never know because I appear years younger. People always think I'm lying. Every time I go for the senior menu, I am carded. I'm out of the hospital. Doing well. My question: What solid foods did you eat after you returned home? How long did it take for you to lift over 10 pounds? I'm an avid bowler, and my balls weigh 14 lbs. I know you lift weights, and that takes longer. I'm in good health otherwise. I am following the doctor's orders. I would like to know about your experience. I am also female, and my cuts/incisions were in four different areas. Thanks.

I try to stick to Whole Foods, keep away from the processed frozen foods and junk. Meat, fiber filled foods seem to sit well, leafy greens while taste good hurt my stomach if I eat to much. As far as weights, I waited the whole 8 weeks before any real weight lifting and even then I took it very easy so I did not get a hernia. As far as bowling, I would wait 8 weeks since I’m sure it’s a lot to twisting and pulling of your core. Hope you are feeling better!

Hey man, thanks for this video. I was just curious what led the doctors to finding the inflamed tissue in your colon? Where you having pain discomfort or any other symptoms? 6 years ago I had a pre-cancerous tumor removed along with several inches of my colon. From the ileocecal to the transverse colon. I still have discomfort in the area of my reception. I'm planning on getting this checked again as of course I have concerns. What was your full experience during recovery?

I don't know what your mother's health issues are so I can only speak about my own experience it takes quite sometime to heal maybe age plays a factor the Doctor treating me said that I would be up and running around in 2 weeks that was irresponsible my back was really affected it took several months of acupuncture and other things It absolutely improved my quality of life when I weigh the positive vs. inconvenience I use the bathroom several times a day with stool very watery they recommend a low fiber diet which is hard for me also need to pinpoint where all the bathrooms are for a possible mad dash don't eat before going anywhere and there's an urgency alone of times again this is my experience I'm not a Doctor I wish you and your mother well and I hope this helps💖💖

I’m scheduled for a similar surgery - a polyp growing out of my appendix can be removed normally so the doc wants to take out the appendix and potentially the caecum. Sounds like you had something similar. Can I ask what it’s like 2 years later? Any chance to bowl movements etc? How long before you were able to do weights again? Anything else you can share that you wish you knew before the surgery. Thank you.
@EdmonJiddou
@EdmonJiddou Жыл бұрын
Hello, yes that’s very similar story. I had zero pains or issues, it was just an odd result of a colonoscopy with a history of family colon cancer. 1) 8 weeks no strength training, you will have plenty of time for that, just stay mobile: walk and move around, the more you do the better/quicker you will feel back to normal. 2) fiber/diet/food choices are going to be the biggest change, will take about a year before your bowl movements become regular. Avoid processed foods all together and take a fiber supplement. I’ll think of more and make an update video.

@@brieestar0307 the more you get up and move around the better you will feel. The staples were uncomfortable but those will be removed in around 10 days. I am 2 years out from mine and things are back to normal besides avoiding certain foods.

Hello, no bag needed. My surgery was located around the secum and appendix and did not need one. Just cut and attach.

Hey man great video. I've been batting with colitis for about 6 years now (early 30s) my gastro doctor has basicly forced the colon removal on me since no medical drugs are working.. any chance you'd be willing to have a chat threw email ?

Absolutely man, ejiddou@gmail.com that sounds like a pretty drastic move for colitis, that’s very realistic to live with and not have to remove the colon. Hit me up.

I was dealing with a stomach ulcer caused by an H pylori infection (it's a nasty infection that, trust me you don't want to contract) and when they did a colonoscopy to make the diagnosis back in january (along with an endoscopy which detected the ulcer) is when they found four polyps in my colon....they removed two with the scope but the other two need to be surgically removed hence the reason for the upcoming right hemicolectomy procedure coming up this week.
