My Compact Mini Wood Stove Made Of Tin

A tin stove made with recycled materials, compact and functional. Hello subscribers, in today's video I demonstrate how I made a small wood-burning stove using recycled materials, in order to facilitate transportation and be of great use in camping and outings.
Materials Used:
Nestom 400kg can
Can 300kg pea
Can 900ml turpentine
4 rivets
Wide masking tape
Permanent pen
Scissors for goldsmiths
Homemade refractory cement (paper mache, water, cement, sand and sugar)

I knew an old fellar from Northern Quebec , who was on his own since he was about 8 yrs old hunting and trapping in the coldest winters and he survived with a tent a gun and a dog team, using a coffee can woodstove for heat !

Great idea and useful to have incase of power cuts in the winter, at least you can heat up hot drinks and soups easily. One difference I've seen is instead of filling the gap with cement is to use a mix of soil and dry grass/straw made into mud/cob which is then stuffed into the space instead. Like cement it dries and acts in the same way as both an insulator and to make it last longer but it is also much lighter and possibly easier to obtain for many people as well as less messy.

If you have access to perlite/potting material to use with masonry cement it will make a lightweight filling, also!

You can re- use charcoal coals if you find a cover other than plastic to snuff out the burning coals and them store them in the stove. The best tin can stove I've seen yet.

I made one just like this a few years ago. I used it so much the temperature reached high enough to melt it and to fuse the sand I used for insulation between the two cans. Fun times.

@@MeantimeEntretempo I have a challenge. Say it's SHTF, electric grids are out and it is a blizzard, in cities that have no juice nor gas and people will literally freeze to death... Can you show a regular person how to safely put a makeshift camp stove (yes, opening and fireproofing the structure wall with things found in homes - and exhausting the carbon monoxide out) to keep their young families alive in bleak situations? With, of course, legal disclaimers.

I built this hobo stove following the instructions and then I was able to cook Chicken confit. French onion soup. Bouillabaisse. Salmon en papillote. Quiche Lorraine and Croque monsieur with it!

Te voir bosser c'est un vrai régal ! Perso j'utilise beaucoup le grillage à poules à mailles carrées, pour l'allandier et pour poser quelque chose sur le poêle. J'ai même réalisé la voûte d'un four à pizza avec, que j'ai recouverte d'argile. Impeccable !

I made one of these and it works great!! I also had an old propane lantern that had a small round stainless steel heat shield so I took it out and it was a perfect fit over top of the hole. Where the lid goes I mean. Fits around the inside lip but to put the coffee lid back on after you're done it doesn't quite fit. If the lip was a 1/16 lower the lid would fit perfectly. But yes this stove cooks and keeps you warm too at the same time if you're in a small area

Awesome. You can also set a taller V8 juice can inside the larger coffee can to hold your cooking pan on top of your rocket stove. In an everyday vehicle people can carry a coffee can, unscented candles & matches to burn one candle at a time in the vehicle until rescued. Thanks again

Very clever. I like the way you transferred the circle size to the side of the tin. You need a hole in the bottom so the ash can fall out. But good idea.
