Heyyy we're back to the basics over hereeee. So obviously we're talking about contour. I'm mostly going to talke about WHY and HOW we use it. And I listed all my favorite contour palettes/sticks powders/creams down below and tried ro delineated what skin tones they work best for. I would love for people with medium/tan/deep skin to leave their recommendations in the comments so we can all help each other out! 🙌🏼❤️

I hate when people online teach you how to do your contour based on their face shape and telling you that its "the right way" of doing it. But Alex actually explains to you why is it for and how it works and then shows you how she contours her face shape which gives you more info on it

Agree! Makeup is super personal on your taste and how you look (so face shape, eye shape, eye colour, skin tone etc) and by taste I mean what features you like and want to pop or your personal style. I can relate to your statement it’s great to say a method that works well for you but it’s so annoying as hearing the “everyone else is doing it wrong” term.

Would love a contouring of the eye area video! Not huge on eyeshadow but would love to understand how to work with the natural shape of my eyes (slightly hooded and round) to create a little more definition. Wish I had beautiful hollowed-out eyelids to work with but it's squishy up there, what can I say!

Dude it’s literally like watching an artist paint when you do your contour. Like you can just tell that you’re an artist by watching you do your makeup down to the way you hold your brush (mad skills ❤️)

Man I am LOVING this series! Explaining the reasons why you would or would not use a product and/or tone of a product on your face to achieve the desired effect helps me understand HOW to use the product, in this case contouring products vs a bronzer. *For the basics of eyeliner* : just start with extending your lower lash-line curve upwards. I've seen a lot of tips like "aim for the ail of the brow" but that doesn't always work. Extending your natural eye shape does :)

This is crazy I've been struggling with contouring lately. We must be vibing lol. I think I've found the trick. Using a more rounded brush instead of those thick "contouring brushes" that sit in your cheekbones. Also the shade I'm usually is probably too dark. Thank you!!

Haha aww a lot of my fam is ur height coming from an italian family!! 💕 I’m one of the tallest girls in my family 5’3 and a half (the half counts 🤣) and I felt like average height living in Brooklyn, NY, but I feel so short living in Arizona!! People here and on the west coast are so tall!

Hey Alexandra! I’m loving this basic series! I don’t know if you’ll see this but I’m going to ask anyway! Would you do a video on the difference between warm and cool tones in make up colors? There is a lot of videos about warm and cool tone shadows, blush, and bronzers! It is so confusing to me the difference! To me I see dark colors, medium colors and light colors! How do you tell if a color is warm or cool? I hope this doesn’t seem stupid! I really don’t get it! Thanks for all you do! Thank you so much for this series. I have a friend who is non-binary and wants to get into makeup - they know very little and the makeup world is overwhelming when you have no knowledge of makeup. Your videos are SO helpful! Love how you get straight to the point! Finally a beauty guru that is drama-free and actually helps me do makeup that looks good in real life. A lot of the makeup tutorials I was following had me lookin crazy in daylight. Trying out your chin contour trick! I’ve been just doing it across my jawline for years. Used to do the ear to mouth method too and changing that as well. Gonna be using a lighter hand like you said too. I barely noticed the dryness on you, but thanks for keeping imperfections in rather than blurring it out with a beauty filter. I have acne prone skin and it gives me hyperpigmentation, so you showing what real skin actual looks like is refreshing in today’s times. We’re all perfectly imperfectly. You’re gorgeous! 🤍

Would definitely appreciate a tutorial on eye contouring. I have hooded, slightly drooping down turned eyes and trying to create a flattering shape to elongate and pull up the eye through shadow is extremely difficult
