Well hello fellow free human, or free human to be! Thrilled to have you here yet again for another episode from the 'Free Human' series.
Today we’ve got Julia, an Australian freediving champion who finds comfort in the presence of wildlife. Through a web of a complex life, she chose to believed in herself because no one else would and rose to create a very unique life of freedom through freediving and wildlife conservation.
We dive into her life story, her mindset, how she funds the life she lives, her advise for others wanting to create their own dream life and more.
Hopefully Julia’s story inspires you and gives you some comfort in trusting that your wild, irrational idea might actually work, and perhaps it really is a risk worth taking.

Give me a short description of your own free life (do it quick now to get your brain churning, otherwise you might forget to do it. Give yourself permission to dream, I know it can be scary too. You've got this).

I live full-time in a small jeep so I can go anywhere I want and do anything I want. I realize I don’t need money to be happy or fancy things. When you do not have much, but you are extremely happy with what you have and you would not change anything. Getting out every day exploring and seeing new things is a lot better than having a lot of things.

I used to be a professional celebrity broadcaster on the radio for 30 years, and I had a deep passion for extreme sports such as surfing, wakeboarding, kitesurfing, bike racing, free skiing, freediving, scuba diving, and more. I also have two wonderful teenagers whom I adore as a proud dad. However, in 2019, my career came to an abrupt halt, and my health took a severe hit, leading me on a dark journey of depression and anxiety. The world being in a pandemic mode coincided with my departure from the conventional system, which somewhat facilitated navigating through the challenging times. Unfortunately, my health continued to deteriorate, particularly affecting my legs, to the point where I can barely walk. But amidst these struggles, I am determined to reclaim my freedom and live life on my own terms. It's peculiar how living outside the system can be challenging, as you never truly leave it, but I strive to use it as a means to find liberation. Currently, I am working towards becoming a freelance digital podcaster, where I can share my wealth of experience from 30 years in live media. The path ahead is still complex, but I firmly believe that maintaining a positive mindset, surrounding myself with uplifting individuals, and having a Morning Radio show called "Tanguy Good Mood" (which I hosted for 30 years) can work wonders. And you, Sorelle, are one of those positive smiley people Love your smile ... never stop smiling :-) . Although I don't know you yet, if I succeed in creating a positive and free future for myself, I hope to meet you somewhere and invite you to be a guest on my podcast. We can discuss my three pillars of life and share valuable insights with our audience. Oops, I apologize for the lengthy response. As a broadcaster, it's often challenging to keep things concise. 😀 Oh and i never write comment on KZfaq soi i guess this is a first !

I'm a professional mermaid in Northern Michigan. And while my lake is COLD and only available to swim in for 2-3 months, I LIVE for those moments when it is just you and the moment underwater. Someday I hope to be even half as graceful (and have even the slice of a breath hold) as her. Holy crow 😍🖤 Very much enjoyes this video. I can't wait for more. Love this series!

Just discovered this channel 3 days ago and from what you showcase your existence alone is extremely important because you're working as a link or a portal into a world or reality people like me aspire to unlock.It's so helpful to be able to see this and realize that we're not crazy, how there's people out there like us who made it a reality and how it's possible even if the environment and people around us don't understand and probably never will because they never had the chance to believe or even know about such freedom.I quit my job as a business assistant working behind a desk , I'm renting some rooms and even tho this is just the beggining with a lot of setbacks I've never felt so free and reliefed to know everything that comes will be meaningful enough for me to keep pushing and going wherever I want to go and freedom takes me.I can finally full heartedly do all the things I'm passioned about with full control of my time and being. Just wanted to share my story as one more token of the effects you're work is having.Thank you for the inspiration and please continue being a Free Human that frees people.

The way all you say and do is so genuine and well-meaning but also realistic is incredible. I've been following you for a few years now and I don't think I've seen a person on the internet as capable of getting me genuinely motivated as you are. With each video you post you prove everyone is capable of having a healthy life as long as they let themselves be themselves. Love from Serbia💕

I thought I was crazy being the only one that never wanted to go to college or to have a 9-5 job. I always wanted to work for myself and be free. I always booked plane tickets spontaneously and sometimes so close to the date I wanted to leave but because of all that I don’t have many friends with the same mindset. And I do a lot of this alone. Hopefully soon I can meet more like minded people ❤️

Do you often plan what you're going to be doing or do you have a certain goal in mind that fuels you with the desire to go?
@thisismarlonanthony
@thisismarlonanthony Жыл бұрын
@@studyingskylar931 I don’t necessarily plan much. It’s almost like I think about leaving and I just go. For example, if I all of a sudden am like “I want to go camping somewhere” and it just pops into my head. I’ll start searching flights and the best places to go camping. Then I begin saving up that day. Whenever I want to explore or do something I just do because I love traveling and going on adventures. If I try and plan out very early I tend to not do it or get side swiped with something else.

If you feel free inside that’s the only freedom that matters 🤯 that was like a bomb going off. When I was making my way into working life/adult life there was so much resistance I knew it wasn’t for me but I couldn’t see any other way. 8 years later now 26yo) me and my life partner have just broken our lease and moving into a caravan, living on the road - Free humans. we can have time to do what we actually want to do 🎉

I lived in Paris, London and Canary islands, worked on a ship, went to the military, lived in a cave, worked in an animal shelter, I`m a journalist, a KZfaqr, a DJ and most recently started working in hospitality - no regrets here - I want to try and do so many things in my life 🤩🥰🥰

Ohhhh Sorelle....how I loved this video. I am SO happy you're sharing this message!!! Let's all free ourselves!! I. have come to this resolution via other evolving means but it makes me tingle with joy when I see others start to twinkle awake! I'm envious actually because this is the life I wished I had (and know I still can) but am 54 and just wish this freedom was available back then. The whole "I have to go to college, get a job, work week after week...." I always knew I didn't fit in but there wasn't really a model for it. I'm just so happy this is happening - your age teaching the next generation about alternative lifestyles. Actually it's your very own lifestyle - no one else - and you have those beautiful people on the beach looking at the moon. This energy is what it's all about! Sending many besos! Julie

Just this morning (prior to this recent post) I had a moment at work where I didn't like being told what to do and I immediately thought of you and your free human series. I immediately went and wrote down a dozen strong inspirational affirmations of what being a free human is to me in my life. I love my job, as far as a job goes, but it's not my true calling. I know I will have to really work hard on myself and my path to get to freedom, but I've never been so far along in believing I could do such a thing. Thank you so much for your inspiration and knowledge! I appreciate you dearly!

I lived in Goa for 5 years, lived in Portugal for 7.... I taught myself carpentry from KZfaq and made bespoke furniture for hippies... I had no money.... I saved, lived back with my mum, and got lucky, by putting myself in places where I met more people like me. I had 20 years of serious depression, and tried my best to figure out what it was...and traveling was a way of getting out of that. I ended up getting the therapy I needed, now I don't feel the need to get away, strangely. Sometimes the things we think would stop us, become the fuel we need... I think it's not about having money or a good start, I certainly didn't have either...but the inner space. Work on that...listen to the calling if it's there, and have a go... Great vid!

This is fascinating. I was trapped in a wreck in Chuuk lagoon, 8 years ago-got bent- have not been diving since. Free diving looks amazing-need some training

Love this series and love you, Sorelle! I have been doing my best to apply these principles to stay at home motherhood. I made the decision early on, before having kids, to keep them at home and stay home with them. I always say we are as free as we allow ourselves to be. So much of it is mindset! I am not out traveling the world but I am loving the life I choose, even though some days I want to pull my hair out. Raising the next generation to be free to fulfill their interests and desires in an unconventional way is such a cool experience! I love that I am able to provide my kids a true childhood, free from the restraints and unrealistic expectations of public school and conventional society. Hopefully, they will have the ability, as adults, to pursue a truly free and fulfilled life. That is my deepest hope for them. ❤ Now to balance all of that with pursuing my own dreams, apart from motherhood. 😉 Definitely getting there.

Love this Sorelle. I agree with everything you say to help people get out of the traps of modern life. We have a young family and are totally free though we are not nomadic anymore. I think people with kids find it harder to leave everything behind but it is possible and you don’t need to travel all the time if you don’t want. We left our home behind and vowed never to pay rent again and 4 years later that’s still the case!
