My crocus lawn and March cottage garden

Come and explore our cottage garden in early March. Things are starting to come to life and the crocus lawn is at its best. We have around 1000 pickwick crocus in this lawn currently after I topped it up last winter.

I love the Pickwick crocus and also have them in my flower bed but not as many as you do. I think 40? also I have other colors of crosuses.

Hi! Just found you and really appreciated this video. I was looking for ideas about how to fill a cottage style garden with flower and colour in early spring - I totally agree it's needed after getting through the winter! I planted lots of tete-a-tetes last autumn and I've loved seeing them, but it was still a bit of a wait. I'm all over the crocus lawn now - it's happening next year ⚘

Hello😊, what do you do against mice? I want to start planting bulbs this year in autumn and iam afraid that when I spend so much money on the bulbs, mice will eventually just have a nice dinner out of them. I love your garden, so pretty. How do you manage the lawn with the crocuses in them? Do you just not mow when the flowers are coming up and then mow when flowering finishes?

Its better to wait until the leaves of the crocuses become yellow before cutting the grass. Leaves give energy to the bulb for the next spring, if they are cut to early sometime the bulb have not enough reserve and die.
