My current distance setup is a melonkacke deck with gbomb front and tail brackets, don't trip poppys for the front truck , seismic 83mm 79a, ceramic bearings, just completed 162 miles in 24 hours straight, you're killing it out there if your getting 50 miles a day on this board, keep it up 👊

I just got into cruising in a big way. I’m 36 now, but I used to go pretty hard with street skating back in the day, like hurling myself down sketchy looking 7 sets just to show people it’s possible and get them pumped up lol… but if I even so much as thought about that sort of thing now my hip would just break itself 😄 So I went to my local shop and made the guys day by going back 15 years and throwing together a completely custom deck from the bottom up, which he said he took this job for because he was hoping to do more of that, but kids just come in nowadays, see a pre-made deck and fall all over what looks cool, rather than what’s practical for them width and lengthwise, and if they aren’t that great on the thing right away and can’t do a kick flip within a month, they’ll give it up. So cruisers are perfect not only for the creepingly decrepit such as myself, but also anyone who genuinely wants to ride, but maybe doesn’t think they can hang with the kids at the park or on the street or something 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m definitely right in the middle of that Venn-iness lol.

My setup is currently 75mm 72a Mercer wheels on Venture Pudwill Hollow trucks, 1/4" Indy risers, and a BLX (Blox) local deck with astroturf skate grip. I literally built my current board from basically the deck in the backyard we used to serve cats' food on. The trucks were the last set from the ACE Hardware across the street. I was lucky to find the 75mm Mercers on Mercari. The main setup I often had when I was on the road was usually a Sector9 bamboo deck, Indy trucks, 1/4" risers, and countless sets of wheels. My Mercer 85mm are the color of the road, now and used to be what the 75mm set looks like with the see through red... The most durable and tested wheels I've ever owned aside from original Sector9 Soy Biothane 63mm. I have some old videos.... mrPint0Bean is my old channel I haven't posted to in a long time. Still have some memories on my "handle" channel for KZfaq, though.

*Bones Super Swiss 6 bearings (SS6)* are fundamentally different from their famous Bones Swiss. Super Swiss have 6, 3/16 inch balls instead of 7, 5/32 inch balls. Thus, the SS6 balls are 20% larger and roll fewer times to go the same distance. Like bigger wheels on a car, they create less rolling friction and have a higher top speed. SS6's special design and Swiss quality materials enable it to accelerate quicker, roll faster, and resist the impact of skate trick landings better than standard designs.

Probably something similar, although I don’t think I’d go above 65 mm and I would have some kind of riser pad to absorb some shock. If they make those Dragons in that size I might give em a whirl. Maybe go with a shaped board and get back to my roots, although I would probably try out some different stuff. TBH I would never undertake a trip bid that magnitude unless I allowed myself 2-3X as long as you’re taking. I would also need several surgeries before I could do that or my ankles, knees and back would probably give out after a week. Curious about your backpack setup. Have you been over that?

i would use a double dropped longboard that would be 38"-40" long and 9-9.5 wide. a little less wide is nice because it makes ambidextrious skating easier. For trucks i think sabre longboard trucks with maybe 50 degree plates and more firmer bushings.. i might wedge/dewedge the trucks, which would be safe. for wheels id go with orangutan kegels. these are wicked wheels among the lot. for bearings id maybe stay cheap with zealous but ceramic bearings would be better. i remove inner sheilds if there are any, dab white lithium in the middle and use wd-40 on the balls and sheilds. the white lith moves outward and forms a nice gunksheild. The wd-40 is like a laxative for it to work well. the dropped thru deck would have risers placed between the baseplate and deck to Lower the deck. ("double drop") a little bottle of chlroseptic, benzedrex, bleach powder, blistex are items i would pack. also creatine, multivitamin, and a good needle and good thread and light sizzors.

Man if i could ride accros the country i immediately thought oh I'f want suspension trucks then i was like noo I'd want stability more because there are some crazy roads down there. I would choose a big ole deck like you did to feel nice and stuck to it, i would have to go with vicous grip tape because of how grippy it is i wouldn't want to lose a fight with speed wobbles half way through my trip. For the trucks i would ride some independent highs with bones hard bushings in them. For my bearings i wouldve also went with ceramics because of the rain and all the elements youd have to go through youd actually need ceramics or youd probably have to replace them alot. The wheel brand doesnt really matter much to me as long as theyre big and soft. Id probably go with mini logi because theyre cheap.
