Not my normal type of video. This is a build video, but also a little tribute to my dad. If your dad was a maker as well, I'd love to hear about it. In the first half of the video, I make a wristband like my dad used to make, using his tools. His mallet, his snap sets, punches, etc. In the second half, I design a version using the tools I have laying around. If you would want to see a more detailed build video, I'd be happy to make one. Just let me know down below! And check out my older brothers channel! 60% chance this video hit him right in the feels.

your voice as well as your warm and thorough guidance reminds me of my past dad. Started working with CNC after one year my dad passed away, he always wanted to have a CNC. I have a desperate wish of I and my dad have some time making stuff together, once again.

What a wonderful tribute to your Dad!! It reminds me so much of my Dad, even down to building a plywood boat in the garage!! This video brought back so many special memories of him. Thank you!

I just found your channel (the Smith Mountain Lake video). I fell in love with your style, content, and your message. THIS video though...WOW! What a tribute to your father and the wisdom and support that he provided. Man, this really made my eyeballs sweat. Well done, sir. Well done.

Hi I'm so glad I happened upon this video by watching your video on sealing ink on leather. Looking for cricut inspiration I didnt expect to end up sobbing and also remembering so many things about my own dad. I love the way you honoured your dad so beautifully and in some ways you were telling my own dads story too. I lost him in 2017 aged 80. He too was a maker. He tinkered on cars and learned to service sewing machines and radios (and our shed was once full of an incredible array of both of all ages and beauty). He too worked on wood, making everything from furniture to intricate frames and boxes. Always out of scrap or recycled materials. Always from trial and error or from second hand books because he was not tech savvy like your dad. He tried his hand at many things and we kids all have items he made for us. My heart broke a little more each time old age stole something from him. When he couldnt use tools any more because he went blind and had a tremor, I still grieve that moment hard. He too inspired my own creativity (as did my ma). How lucky are we to have had our dads and have the memories and the mouldings of our own creativity? Your dad sounds wonderful. Thank you for sharing your appreciation and admiration and also for making me think of my own dad.

I'm not crying- you're crying! What a wonderful tribute to your dad- reminds me a lot of my mom. And me to an extent. Always trying new crafts- quilting, sewing, knitting, leatherwork, scrapbooking, etc. I hope my girls remember me half as fondly as you remember your dad when I'm gone!

I'd really appreciate knowing how you created the 2nd wristband with the Cricut, especially the method you used to bond the 2 pieces together. Maybe even grab that pattern file?

This is such a beautiful video! What is the tacky sheet you use to adhere the leather to the Cricut mat? I've been having a hard time finding something strong enough to keep the leather in place, but doesn't leave residue on my leather. Thanks!
