Elevenses' is a great word. In the past having interaction with foreigner friends at my native town in Christian Hospital, Pakistani Tea was served with Snacks etc. therefrom I got the idea and became used to that ' elevenses" till today.

In half of meeting time, we enjoyed ourselves by doing Elevenses, we had some meal and drank a glass of hot Coffee🕚☕

I find nibbling sunflower seeds and hazel nuts moreish. About a month or so ago when I was walking in the early morning, my eyes caught off the ground and found a stack of money and I looked around if there was nobody seeing me. I have to say there was nobody and I took the money and considered me a jammy that day and it was not dodgy. I don't like even I hate it when schoolchildren make noise in the classroom. It's a real kurffuffle. It's better to incorporate elevenses into our daily routine. I love your mom 's phrase : It's time to rustle up some grub. My son had his hair cut yesterday but not as It asked him to do and I am still miffed. Sometimes it's important to grab a brolly and go out in the rainy weather because that day Is walked to my work without grabbing brolly and got wet to the skin. It was real bonkers. I was in the summer camp in the mountain area when I was a schoolboy and it was nearly more than two decades ago and it wad donkey 's years.

Reminds me of Brian May who also designed and built his own guitar 'The Red Special' (see wiki if this is of interest to you ;-) with his father; and amazingly as you may know, this is the one that rocked Queen throughout the band's entire career! May I ask if it is an acoustic one or an electric guitar he is making? I'm intrigued and couldn't really figure out about the piece you spoke about. Is it the top saddle (also called nut)? ...Or outright, and more probably I think ,the headstock, I mean the head of the guitar basically that carries the tuning mécanisms (tuning machines)? ... Anyways, I hope you will show us a photo when it is finished; I'm passionate with guitars. I never built one but I would have liked to ! Apart from that, I loved the lesson and all the words you wonderfully chose and presented as I am always curious about British slang. Did you say a fifty pound note you found?
