Thank you! Every time I watch G5 and see Opaline and Misty, I can’t help but compare them to how I wrote Chrysalis and her successor in my fan fiction. Chrysalis and her daughter were very close, but after her daughter decided to have a change of heart after meeting Flurry Heart, she had to leave her mother. Even though she was now in a more supportive environment, she still had complicated emotions of leaving her mother. Chrysalis also felt very emotional about their separation, feeling like a part of her was now gone because she ginuely cared for her. Meanwhile, Opaline looks as though she won’t care a bit if Misty leaves her and Misty won’t have any regrets of leaving her aside from Opaline trying to defeat her along with the mane five which won’t even last very long. I just wish they would put some amount of emotion and effort into their relationship beyond the typical mean parent figure and child victim.
