I stayed at Bally's Sept 2020, but in a remodeled Jubilee room - great view of Eiffel tower, Paris, Cosmo, & most of Bellagio fountains. I had no issue with the casino - appreciated security watching for misplaced masks! The walk to the strip is much closer from Jubilee tower, but even then walking thru bazaar shops is not pleasant. I took side exit, facing Cromwell, when heading north. I've been following your vlogs, & like your reviews, but your verbal ads for sponsors are getting annoying.

Bally's actually used to be pretty good, and the Bizarr shops pre-covid had some nice "quick casual" eating or drinking places (I think Dirt Dog and Fuel, for one of each, are the last two left). And it had a nice, but quiet, poker room.

I’ve stayed there and like the connection to Paris as I often go to the Miracle Mile Shops for breakfast and water and snacks. Minimizes the time you’re outdoors in oppressing heat. Also it’s actually closer to the Flamingo Poker room than sone of the rooms in the Flamingo! And you can minimize your outdoor time by crossing Flamingo to the right of the main entrance of the hotel and walking through the Cromwell casino. One more thing it’s a short walk from their food court to Ellis Island where lots of locals go for low stakes gambling and great inexpensive food. So I’m saying I love the location, not necessarily the casino or other amenities.

as someone who primarily uses the monorail when i stay for transportation i also like that the monorail can drop you off there even tho it can be a walk to the strip from it. i always tell people a 4 multiday pass on the monorail easily pays for itself considering thats how much it costs for a one time rideshare/taxi ride to/from

@@PlasmaKong2 it’s a good distance from the strip and I’d feel uncomfortable walking it late at night. .7 miles to the Flamingo, almost all of that on Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, kinda dark and lonely at night. Unless I was with a group or going during daylight I’d choose a cab or car share after dark

Really appreciated the review. I'm looking forward to seeing how they've changed when I go stay near the end of June for the WSOP (Paris and Bally's). The room is the most important thing for me, usually followed by access and the food. Since most of my time will be spent between Bally's and Paris, I'm hoping the access will not be as big of an issue as it was for you. Also expecting they will have the restaurants back open with the new one. Keep up the good work, and know even 9 months later you are getting views :)

I’m 100% with you! My husband and I had a horrible experience staying there in April! I even called before we went to see what was available and open. This is normally our go to spot. To say we were disappointment was an understatement. The pools closed, restaurants are closed, and we were also promised free valet if we booked 4 nights. Just as you experienced, nobody could tell us why! We called Caesars entertainment, we called the front desk which would not answer, we went to the front desk and got the run around! It stands for also mentioned that we drove from the East Coast to get there on the way to Los Angeles as well as having a back injury and needing that pool to therapy after being in the car for three days! Huge letdown! Step it up Caesars! Bally’s has huge potential and you’re wasting it! We have stayed there countless times and we got married at Paris and threw our party at Bally’s! Do better!

I love the walking..gets you in shape. Bally's is kinda an old man's casino. You can't compare it to the Cosmo etc. But it's center strip and it's connected to Paris. It's not my #1 but don't agreed with your bad review. If you head out and take the first glass doors to the right you'll be outside and if you cross the street, your right at the Cromwell and just a few more feet you're at the flamingo pool and their back entrance. I know when its really hot that's where I head out. It''s very fast and not much of a walk to get back into the airconditioning.

Easy access to everything it seemed! I do agree that the Casino in Bally's does feel like your in an old basement. I guess when you are a 50 year old Casino - It is hard to stack up against the giant resort that have been built more recently! Enjoyed the video! Cheers!

Bally's is my go to hotel in Vegas. I'm usually in Vegas for continuing education seminars. Often those seminars are held at Caesar's and I stay at Bally's and walk across the street. The one feature of Bally's that I would have mentioned is the tunnel connection to the Paris. There are (usually) several places to eat down there as well, including a really great sandwich place. I have no idea if those places are still open since Covid.

I stayed at Bally’s about a month ago. (Mid July) and tbh I got the same vibe as you did! I actually laughed because the way you described the hotel is just how I did. The casino feels like it’s run down, old, kinda musty, not much effort has been placed on the dining either. I feel like Caesars has this resort on the “back burner” so to speak. Great place on the strip, but walking from behind the casino, to the escalators up to a walkway to another set of escalators to hit the bazaar to finally hit the strip; it’s tiring after a day or two 😖

Stayed there in May for 2 nights. It was sad. The property is old and tired and been ignored for along time. No one checked room keys and where are rooms were located it was rather frightening at times. I will say 15, 20 yrs ago it was a decent property but not any longer. I was also very surprised at the lack of customer service.

Fair review. Editing is lit. Bally's is usually my home base on the strip as I get my best low roller comps there and it's a short walk to Ellis Island, Cosmopolitan and Miracle Mile shops for eats. I'll actually be there next weekend. I usually stay in November so I've never visited the pool. I think you can use the Paris pool too but I understand the disappointment. Writing this I'm realizing that the casino slots are boring as you said and I find myself walking in circles trying to find a machine that I want to play and I've never eaten in there other than the food court so I guess that says something about the food choices too even before the closures. I usually get an upgrade at check in for $40-$50 per night for a suite with the big tub in the middle but it's nice to see the regular rooms are nice enough and have a fridge too. It would be nice if the casino got a makeover but of course that would drive the price to stay up.

I can't speak to the variety of the slot machines, but the arrangement of the table games is very nice and, unlike many other casinos, I don't get hopelessly lost on the casino floor! haha You're right about the walk from the room to the Strip; that's a LOT of steps just to make it out to the front sidewalk! Your description of the basement feeling casino reminds me of the back bar at Vanderpumps in Caesars. The front area of Vanderpumps is gorgeous. But we got seated at the back. ugh, how depressing. It's a very small room, with no view. It's all walls. In the middle is a table that's attached to the tree, and I guess a group was sitting there earlier, as the seats were all kinda pushed back and at every angle. The room reminded me so much of the basements of the homes of our classmates, where when their parents went out for the night, us teens went into the basement to have a party. That back room gave off a very high school, party in your classmates basement vibe. So we drank up quickly and left.

I stayed in Bally's in 2018 and really enjoyed it then. The room had already been updated at that time and all the restaurants were open. Bally's does seem like an afterthought when compared to the other properties though. Depending on your budget, it's a decent hotel with a great location. Just got back from Paris hotel last week and everything there was open and running normally. Its true that the way to get in and out of Bally's is a little weird with the escalators and the hallway that lead you out to all the street shops on Vegas blvd. BLT Steak in Bally's was one of the best places I've eaten at in Vegas. It's the location of the Sterling Brunch on Sundays which is still not in operation, apparently...

We are in Vegas a LOT and stayed at Bally’s 6 weeks ago and again this weekend and stayed in both towers. Same style but Jubilee tower is run down. We don’t mind the casino. They also closed Sea, the Thai restaurant last year which was our favorite! Seems like this is happening all over though, sadly.

I just got back from a stay at Bally's pretty much agree with you. It feels so far from everything but Paris and maybe Cromwell that you don't want to leave but the place itself is so Meh. I want to feel like I'm in Vegas not a local casino.

Great video Ruby, and I like the honest review. If I flew all the way from NYC to Vegas in the summer to find that the pool was CLOSED for 2 days, I would absolutely lose it. For many of us, the pool is the #1 attraction for Vegas in the first place, so the pool being inexplicably "closed" for 2 days is absolutely inexcusable!!! Seems like Caesar's might be unloading Bally's soon. Usually when there is a noticeable drop in quality and services in a hotel that's the deal (ex. MGM Grand). Great video!

Boy that casino did look awful dark inside! And that long walk to get out is not something I'd want to deal with. Thanks for the great review! It really helps people decide where to stay.

OMG, Ruby! I can’t believe we missed you there! We stayed at the Aria Aug 5-10, but my dad stayed at Bally’s Aug 5-10. He was told that the pool was closed because it was reserved for the DEFCON conference attendees. He was also told that he could use the pool at Paris while he was there. I think that there’s big changes coming to Bally’s since Bally’s Sports bought the Tropicana. I have to think Bally’s Sports wants that name for their hotel. I doubt Caesar’s is going to put much money in it. My Dad likes Bally’s because of the sports book. It’s unique compared to other strip sports books. And go to Dirt Dog if you’re getting a hot dog next time! It’s in the Bazaar Shops and way better than Nathan’s. Love the videos!

Hey Ruby! I'm staying here this weekend (first time in Vegas!) and I'm confused about the pool situation. Since this is a Ceasar's property are there other hotel pools that we have access to by staying here?

I'm surprised that the front desk did not give you an option to use the pool at Paris. The two dining locations that were closed received a very short notice (72 hour window) that they could no longer serve customers. My big pet peeve are the push carts that are in the basement walking towards the pool. Some of those workers do not take no thank you very well. Since the Eldorado merger, the property removed some of the table games and replaced them with generic slot machines.

I stayed at Bally’s 3 different times after Renovations. I used the hair salon once and wasn’t very happy. Johnny Rockets food was good. We tried Wahlburgers one time and found it just okay. I like that they are connected to Paris Hotel and all the fabulous restaurants. It was great to walk over to Giada’s for dinner. I found the casino boring and walked thru to Paris. Thank goodness for comps.

I just got back from a week long trip, staying at Paris, and this is the only casino on the strip i did not walk into… as you said best thing in there is the mini golf, and i’m single, so no thanks. And it’s also easy to miss that fabulous entrance. Thinking back at the only time I did go in there, it is so far from everything. At least now I definitely know not to stay there, even if at a really low cost. Thanks for the great review.

Bally’s, the original MGM Grand. Sorry to hear your stay wasn’t a hit. I miss Sterling Brunch. Hope it returns soon. At least they updated the rooms to appear modern contemporary.

Thank you Ruby. I wouldn't want to stay at a resort that has a boring casino, a closed pool, and almost no place to eat. Shame on Caesars. No wonder they were offering me a room there for $25 a night.

On November 21, 1980, Bally's , which was the original MGM Grand was the site of one of the worst high-rise fires in United States history, in which 85 people died The North tower is totally haunted. You can find the fire report online and sleep in the same rooms where people died!

So Ruby what's the story?? Do you have to wear a mask? I am planning on going to Vegas for my Birthday in November but don't want to go if everything is restricted. I have been vaccinated. Does that help? Hope you had a Happy Birthday!! Hope to hear more from you soon. Look for you every day. Missed You!!

What I don't agree with is 1) the Reel slot selection at Bally's is pretty good. They have a much higher coin recycle rate than penny slots (which means more room comps and perks). Penny slots have a lot of bells and whistles, flashing lights and imagery but pay far less in the long run than the old Reel slots so you feel less bad when you're losing. 😂 2) On the strip, ALL of the hotels are like 3 miles from your room to the actual sidewalk on the strip. Every hotel I've stayed at on the strip is like this. The hallways alone in some of the strip properties are like a half mile from your room to the elevator alone, then you have to get in the elevator, depending on how busy it is, that could be a wait. Then you have to walk from the bank of elevators out through the casino to get to the strip. (Remember that famous scene in the Mirage when Clark W. Griswold was checking in at the Mirage and the lady is giving him instructions on how to get to his rooms? It's like that on steroids at all the strip properties.) Bally's is a good location because you can easily get to Paris, Planet Hollywood, Cromwell, Flamingo, Caesar's, Harrah's, Bellagio across the street (which btw is probably 3.5 miles from your room through the casino to the actual strip front). I've stayed at MGM, Mandalay Bay, Bally's, Paris, Caesar's, Harrah's, Flamingo, Mirage, TI, Venetian, Palazzo, Linq when it was the Imperial Palace, and they are ALL a haul and a half to get to the strip front sidewalk except for Harrah's. When I stayed at the IP, it was a haul and half just to get to the elevator bank from the room with multiple weird doors. Almost reminded me of a hospital with different wings. 🤣 Not sure if they have changed that since it became the Linq as I haven't stayed there since. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts for Vegas newbies. If you want good comps look for Reel slot machines. They usually tend to have a much higher coin recycle rate. The casinos count every dollar you play - including the ones they give you in the machine that you play down.

Has the same thoughts as this video. We were there Aug 4 to 7. Three nights and No Pool for all 3 days. No warning before arrival. And our room was really average. Storage sucked, no hooks or clothes linens for towels, etc. location cannot overcome other issues in our opinion.

Hoping for an HRH at the Bally's site in the coming years. That was my favorite hang :( . That being said Bally's has spirits in the hallways / stairwells from 1980.
