This is my experience with diverticulitis & diverticulosis. I had two infections. Fist one was not so bad. I had a CT scan to diagnose me with diverticulitis and diverticulosis. They were in my sigmoid area of my colon. On my second infection I had to get a tube put in my stomach until the abscess stopped leaking into my gut. I had 30 ML of infection sucked out of my gut. I had the drain tub for 3 weeks in which about 5 to 15 ML of infection drained out daily. I had my sigmoid part of my colon removed which cured me of this condition. 5% chance I have an infection in the future. The surgery was the best thing that has ever happen to me.
