I did this years ago in college with some Walmart bookshelves. I bought two and stacked them on top of each other. I found this better than buying a big bookshelf cause if I ever wanted to restyle or use one of them in another space in the house I could. I continue to do this today but this time I bought the shelf from target but I only needed one. I practice minimalism now, so I went from about 82 pair of shoes to 30-40ish

Good question. I don't remember, but it's probably 3-4 inches. (My baseboards are 5")

Hi! Check the measurements! The length is pretty long, but I didn't have an issue in my SUV. I do remember it was close though.
