My dog, Coco, jumped out of a moving car once. It was surprising, as she was very well trained. She was also a Goldendoodle, so we could have easily prevented her escape if we had just left the window a little less open. Luckily, we weren’t far from the house, and it turned out she just wanted go go play with the neighbor’s dog.

My first dog passed away last May, he was the thing that kept me moving in the darkest time of my life. I’m forever grateful we had him for as long as we did. We got a new puppy after our oldest cat passed away last July (which made us all go through a loop since he was around since me and my younger brother were born) and now we have a corgi. He’s rambunctious and never not moving but we still notice things that our old dog did too, or habits that both of them had. He’s not a replacement but he makes us smile and tries his best to live his puppy life to the fullest. Edit: 4 months later and we have another one. We adopted an 8 month old beagle mix so our corgi wouldn’t be so lonely. Our neighbors (on both sides of the fence) have 3 big dogs total and 2 small dogs. We decided to get him a friend since he spent a lot of his outside time running along the fences with them. The beagle mix is so incredibly sweet, he loves cuddling and doesn’t know the meaning “personal space.” He’s springy and the only dog we’ve seen that can out run our corgi.

My grandmother told me a story about a dog that would always follow her and I on walks when I was 2. He always stayed and stared at the stars with us, and he never missed a day. She even bought him some food. However, one day, he disappeared and never came back. It was a sad story, but we gotta move on sometimes.

My dog Mable (she’s a German Shepard sheltie we think) is really skittish and one time while we were driving with her in my grandma’s car, SHE JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW. She went UNDER THE GOSH DANG CAR, and WOULDNT COME OUT. After like 10 minutes of bribing her with treats and food, we finally got her. Goodness. It was a memory I will never forget. Oh also she’s 40 pounds… she’s like medium sized.🙃

I know this was 5 years ago, but when my dog runs, I just fall on the ground like i'm dead, then she comes back to finish me off.

I understand how you feel when it comes to animals passing away jaiden it's sad and could leave you depressed for some time. I'm only 13 and I had to experience my dog die. She was 13 and We were only a few days apart and she died about 3 days after my birthday so it hit really hard.but after some time I got over it and now I'm better. Keep doing your thing jaiden, keep doing your thing.

Thank you for pointing out that it takes more than just love to take care of animals, but knowledge as well.

When I was kid, I lived on the countryside and we had this golden retriever. She was almost always just free on the yard as she never ran away (well, almost never as this story shows), and the closest neighbors were like 300 metres away so she wouldn't really bother anyone either. However, when she was getting old we got another dog, a beagle. And as a hound dog, this one would obviously just run off after any rabbit she would see or smell, so we kept her caged when outside. But she managed to escape the cage a couple of times (it was built for the golden retriever when she was young, so there was a small gap between the cage and its concrete floor that didn't matter back then but apparently a beagle managed to squeeze through, she stopped escaping when we covered that gap), and just went on to explore the countryside for a bit. I think she was once spotted like over 10 kilometres away from our home but she came back within the same day every time. However, one of these times the old goldie decided to tag along, and she did not come back when the beagle did. We were so worried, and by the nightfall we feared that she had fallen to some ditch and couldn't get up with her old legs. Next day me and my sister had to go to school and we just felt miserable the whole day. We came home in the afternoon and as nobody else was home yet, we hollered for a bit for the dog, but she still was not there so we went inside. However, a bit after, we saw her through a window, just trotting outside as if looking for us as we had called for her. That rush of relief was indeed indecribable. She was tired but otherwise all okay, and after some food, water and rest she was as good as ever.

Lost my bunny to heart failure on the 17 of december, it was heart breaking. I knew it was potentially coming because he was 9 yo almost 10 wich is old for a bunny, but still i wasn't prepared to see him in that state. I miss this little bandit, and i 10000% aggred with you, we should love them while we still can and give them the best life we can.

Your kaysha story was epic and it reminded me of this dog we had when i was a kid named Athos. He was this gorgeous, fluffy Saint Bernard who would sleep in front of the front door so we'd give him pets everytime we'd leave the house, and we were so sad when he passed away. He also had a weird thing for grapes lol

I had a lot of animals that I love that passed away and I know people think when they Bond with their animals they think they will live forever but sadly that's just not the case sometimes things must come to an end and sometimes you just need to learn to let go I know it will be hard but they will still be there in your heart😔

I watched this WAYYYY after you posted this, but this has taught me to take more care of my tortoise, I pretty much just, don't take care of him, at all, but this video has told me that I won't have him for long (I won't keep him until he dies, I will give him away when he had most of his life spent enough with me) so I would be caring for him like a baby ari and smother him with my love and give him even more scriches! luv u jaiden ❤

i love how you mentioned that there are good breeders out there, my next dog is gonna be a german shepherd. i’ve done loads of research on ethical breeding and whatnot, the breeder i like health tests their dogs and all that jazz. i have 2 rescue dogs, i love them very much but rescue is not for everyone!! both of them have behavioral issues and not everyone is equipped to deal with that. of course not all rescue dogs have behavioral issues but it can be a bit of a gamble sometimes. some people don’t care, some people prefer to know what they’re getting beforehand. adopt or shop responsibly!!

My first pet ever was a fish, and you know what 7 year old me named it? Catnip.

My dopey little cat is curled up next to me and when he went missing (one of the first times he went outside) I cried (I was 32!). He re-appeared in the middle of night at about 2am and when I woke up to hear him meowing and purring it was also one of the biggest waves of relief I've ever experienced. I think my older cat found him and brought him home. It was like after a day or two of peace and quiet he decided "Well, I better go and find that little dork and bring him back home"

I have also had a dog that ran. Unfortunately rocky (my dog) jumped one of my walls and we couldn’t find him. Two of my other dogs (I wasn’t old enough to remember them like you) Angel, and Princess. Angel passed away when I was one sadly, and princess passed away from a disease (I believe it was an organ cancer) when I was around 4 years old. I currently have two dogs named Yoda and Eevee (who I named) Yoda is chill and Eevee eats literally everything. They’re both so sweet!❤ Edit: Princess and Angel were also very sweet. I love them all!

I agree that people losing pets hurts because my dog died a few months ago and we just got her paw print on a ceramic dish for each of us kids and I’m asking for a copy of her first tag to be turned into a locket for my birthday ☺️ Also this made me realize that Jaden grew up in Arizona and moved to California and I grew up in California and moved to Arizona
