Mondays don't always go as planned. I ended up on a hook. Lucky for me I have the most amazing friends. My friend Cole was a few miles away working solo, he was able to come get my trailer and pull it home for me.

Its a sad day for the t800 but you still had a badass KWhopper come to the rescue! You friend Coles truck is badass just like yours! Always great to have close friends that are there when you need them.

Talking to your truck as it was towed away - loved it So sorry about your breakdown. Even in a situation like this you handled everything so well, you have an amazing attitude. Your rescue team and trucks were great. I'm sure you'll be back on the road by Wednesday.

Can't say that I've broken a shaft but have had u joint fail. Mine failed in the center of town with an excavator on the deck. It happens to all of us. Your friends help because at some point it will be your turn to help them. At least it's only the shaft and not the diff. Not a hard fix but definitely ruins your day.

Never saw a failure like that. The drive shaft is supposed to fail before it shears off the pinion. Must have been a fatigue crack in the pinion shaft. I like my Mack differentials because they have double reduction in them. If you ever get into loose gravel or sand and your wheels start hopping, it is a good idea to get a tug from someone because if you keep trying, something is going to break.

Seen it many times. It failed because of shock load. All it takes is one bad hop.

I've seen a few, sometimes its just built up fatique over time that creates little micro fractures in the shaft and then one day a couple hops of the wheels and bang it lets go. Seen slip spline shafts do the same too. Just get an exchange power divider, swap it out and back to work!

I felt this so much lol. I trashed my read end a few months back, I hit it hard and was back running in 24hrs. Be dramatic later, any time that happens tune in, focus, the day has changed and it's get to work time this is grind hard time.

When the tires hop somethings gonna pop. Sorry it happened to you. I think we''ve all done it. Our macks used to just twist the axle shaft in half. we had spares in the shop. Easy fix right on site. Those old planetaries were heavy duty. Great attitude though, keep your head up.

It always happens that way. Things always break in the worst places. There’s Lots of stress on a dump truck driveline. Don’t beat yourself up over it. Things could be worse. You could be ugly!

So sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately,it’s part of the game. I had my dump trucks throw out bearing go on me while driving with 6 oak tree stumps in the box. So, I do feel your pain. Hang in there Dauminique, you’re a great person.

Well , I once was subscribed and left your channel, but this was one of your best to date. Unfortunate for your break down, but hauling heavy and on loose stone that can happen ,especially on the slight grade . I'm retired but hauled just as you. Keep hauling. Nice video.

Depends on your mechanic..and how hard to get parts. Could be next week. 25 years in construction trucking and I've never seen that. My dad and I had several trucks so we saw a lot of breakdowns!

Part of trucking. A lot of load on all those parts, they will wear out and they will break. Use to make my living working on them for a short time. Good to have friends. Thanks for sharing.

Ah Daum, ya know shit happens in life...that said it looks like you have good friends in the industry and that right there is worth it's weight in gold when say a pinion goes snap!

Good luck with it Daumi! It'd be nice to see some footage of the repair. We had a 98 KW T800 once with some broken teeth on the bevel gear in the front differential. It was drivable but making a lot of noise. The hardest part was telling which axle was making the noise. We jacked it up with a JD 544 loader where all rear tires could turn and ran it through some gears and finally determined that it was the front differential making the noise. That took most the day to diagnose and get that one out then another day or two to get a reman. Another day day to put it in and back on the road it went.

My Dad had the Turbo blow up on him once. He was fully loaded, Dump Truck and transfer trailer. Like you, he was lucky to have good friends. His buddy Dave Evans brought 2 of his Dump Trucks over. One towed Dad back to his shop, and the other pulled his trailer back for him. It really sucked though. It put a huge bulge in the right side of the hood. Soooo, new hood complete Engine Rebuild. What a mess. Dad and Dave rebuilt the Engine at Dave's Shop. Dave was a brilliant mechanic and machinist. He had 10 of every tool and 3 of every piece of equipment you'd need for heavy duty repairs.

Your time getting back on the road is all depending on the availability of the new pinion shaft. Looking at the rear end housing, it looks like the pinion will come out the front, so replacing it shouldn't take long, you just have to be sure to get the correct gear ratio.

Driving trucks, rock crawling and mud boggin in the south and that’s the first time I’ve seen that kinda damage. Hope it’s fixed soon and you’re back up and running. So funny to hear the places I grew up at in a you tube video. Haven’t lived in WA for 20 years lol.
