My E38 Restoration - Episode 11: Complete Rear Axle: Part 2

Next installment of the E38 Restoration project is coming a bit late, because it all took sooo much time, but it is finally done, so in this episode there is my ups & downs process of removing the rear axle, disassembly, complete refurbishment of almost every part on it, and putting it back together. Some of the things went pretty hard, since every single element on that suspension was stock from 1999 (except two small arms and wheel hubs + bearings), so it was mostly rusted together. But i fought through it and i am pretty happy with the result, and most importantly i try to do it all by myself and learn along the way anything i can. Hopefully you will enjoy this video. Best resto videos ever. Id love to do on my 740i but no lift and garage like yours. Money wouldnt even be an issue more time and garage space than anything. All props to you, just keep them coming.

hah, i really appreciate that buddy :-) on E53 there isnt much to watch, that is a daily beater that i dont have too much time to fix it up more. not at this point anyway

What paint did you paint suspension sleds? Great job waiting for the next episodes from the e38 renovation.

Thank you! 🙂all the parts that i painted were painted with polyurethane paint, one coat of basepaint Chemopur U-2061 (flat black) and the topcoat is Gloss black Chemopur U-2081 very thick and very strong paint, i definitely recommend it
