Very nice progress. You are ahead of me with your peas and potatoes for sure. Not so much with your garlic. I actually have a some rust on the soft neck I grew under my mini poly tunnel with my carrots. The hard neck outside looks fine so far. Soft neck just doesn't want to grow well for me here. Most of my crop is hard neck so now worries. I'm planning on picking some turnips and fermenting them this week. I was going to put some peppers and eggplant in also but it looks like we may have some more cool damp weather next weekend so I'll have to keep an eye on the weather and make a decision on that during the week. Probably better to wait. Enjoy your day off!

It's not so bad Frank! Good job you have the hard neck. Enjoy those turnips they are so sweet at this time of year. Some years the weather just doesn't play ball we had that during April - I would wait better safe than sorry. We shall enjoy the extra day thank you for watching us my friend!

As always a first class video thank you. This week I uncovered my outside onions, a few loses but I’ve got plenty, I made a scare crow for the plot and harvested more rhubarb lettuce and radish.i planted 9 different tomatoes in the poly and I noticed a flower on my cucumber I’m going sow a melon or two this week and keep up the weeding on the plot. No spuds yet in Sheffield for me, but 2 weeks and maybe I will look at the first earlies. It’s been warm and I’m concerned maybe we still run the risk of frost don’t want to lose everything so keeping it under cover a little bit longer

We always grow rocket as can’t beat the flavour last week of may of first week in June. We tried Casablanca as monty always grows them but they nothing on rocket and we have also grown swift they are quite nice too. We always grow Charlotte as they are co lovely later on with salads as the rest of the crops start to produce. Main crop we have Picasso such a good all rounder and they grow so big just right for baked spuds. That’s us anyway

We are enjoying our Rocket, but equally Casablanca are great - can't beat Charlotte for a second early salad potato - at the end of the day it's all about our personal preference - great to hear from you Mandy hope you weekend has been as amazing as ours!

Hi Barry and Mrs W. I love lists too. Ir gives me something to aim for and inspires me to 'get out there'. Also very satisfying crossing the jobs off as I achieve them 🙂My dahlias and salvias are having their first night out tonight. They have been going out in the day for the past 2 weeks, and brought in at dusk. Yesterday I planted out lettuce, beetroot, and radish. Waiting for germination of my 2nd sowing of carrots. First sowing only sweet candle germinated, the sugar snax and Norfolk sadly didn't. Sorted the asparagus bed at the allotment today. Lots and lots of bindweed. Not sure how to deal with that, apart from digging it out as I see it, Can't cardboard/compost it as the asparagus was already planted when I took on the allotment last September. If I dig it out it would be like waiting for new crowns to establish- so a few years for a harvest. What would you do? I have lots of strawberries growing on my Sweet Colossal, but they are a few weeks off being ready yet. I potted on my melons, peppers and peanuts today. Tomorrow I need to do the Aubergines. I also need to plant the last of my Anya potatoes. I was lucky that my hubster cleaned my greenhouse earlier in the year, ready for the growing season. It's a job I hate so I am very grateful. I can plant out my melons, courgettes, tomatoes an d aubergines in the greenhouse when I can get my geraniums, fuchsias and summer cut flowers out- hopefully in a couple of weeks. I appreciate your kind words and glad you enjoyed the video. Sorry to hear the carrots didn't germinate as expected. I would start a new asparagus bed off and the terminate the old one once the new is established and then deal with the bindweed. Well one for sharing that strawberry. It was your only option I think. As I watch your recent videos I realise thst you are a few weeks ahead of me. Still I have more crops growing this year than ever before and the promise of greater harvests. Much of this success is down to following your channel. Thank you.

Your alium leaf miner info is top drawer, I'll lift my protection this week from the onions and garlic. The harvest for these looks very promising

The compost U added looked really good compost. Plot looking great, still haven't done much, still in agony. Been just looking after my plants best I can. Need to start planting

Nice workout there Barry. Glad I haven’t got a polytunnel now 😂 good job though, looks brand new. My garlic is also looking fantastic outside in their buckets. Last year I had a little rust but nothing yet 🤞 that crop of potatoes was amazing. I’m definitely doing them next year. Every thing looking good here in sunny, yes sunny Pembrokeshire. Hwyl Herms

I heard somewhere that sulphur may help rust. Don’t know if that true

That's an interesting point! I'll look into it and see if there's any truth to it. But sulphur doesn't sound a great thing to put on plants and I think it was banned some years ago in the UK!

Hi Jackie, they will go for them when young for sure and if they can get to them at any stage they will eat them. The good thing about the tunnel is that they have no where to land once a certain size!
