God bless you for this video. I just was offered housing at vista del campo and I've been looking EVERYWHERE just for any information or photos. The ACC website has photos but like 99% of them are of the rec area/laundry/study areas and then theres like two photos of the kitchen and thats it.

Oh my god THANK YOU FOR THIS. I’ve been searching on KZfaq and the housing website for just a SIMPLE TOUR and everything is shaky and shows their perfume bottles and Goodwill finds.

I found out I got into UCI a few days ago and will likely be applying to live in VDC!! Thank you for your video, I’ve used it to show some of my friends my hopefully future living situation. I’m not sure if you already made one, but you should make a video on the process of applying for housing and roommate selection.

Thanks for all you effort and info! We are planning what to bring and your video is exactly the apt my son is going to move into. He discovered he is room one....was your room--room 1? How was your year overall....I keep reading about how the internet was difficult. Did you have that issue? I also watched your hilarious putting the desk chair together....So fun! Thanks again.

You are welcome! I am just glad it was useful and helpful!! My room was room 1! So I bet he will be in a room with a similar if not, identical layout to mine. My year overall was good! AS for the apartment in particular, the wifi is god awful. The amount of times I would burst into tears from frustration of being disconnected or getting "poor connection" when I was FaceTiming my mom, or even on a phone call with my mom is uncountable. I always found it odd that my Apple TV never had issues connecting to the internet, and it rarely buffered, but on every other device I had it was awful. Some days would be totally fine, and then others were like I was in a cinderblock room cut off from humanity. I would sometimes go out to the porch in an attempt to get better wifi or service even, and it rarely helped. Service from the carrier also tended to have connection issues. I did call the VDC support about it, and when they referred me to Cox support, which is the internet provider, there wasnt really anything they could do. They reset the access points a few times for me, but it didn't do much, it just got me back online when everything was giving a "No Connection" message, but it didn't really do anything. I would tell your son to not waste his time on the phone with them unless the outage spans multiple days. The way they explained it to me is that the internet they have at VDC is similar to the idea of how you have a Wifi network at Disneyland, or a hotel, or Target. There isn't exactly a router like you have at home, its like a public network, that is locked with a password, so when it comes support for certain areas or apartments, there's nothing they can do. I know that was a lot but hopefully that can give you a little insight on that!! Please let me know if you guys have any more questions, I want to make a dedicated video answering or addressing topics like these about my experience at VDC. :)

I saw another person complain that she brought full size sheets and pad and her mattress was queen. Thanks again ! My son is a theater major so if you have any tips/advise please do share. 🙃

Its not the only form of on campus housing! There are the ACC apartments, then there are also more traditional "dorm" style houses, as well as greek life housing too!

Rent for this particular space is 1099 US and it is only available to UCI students. On the Vista Del Campo website it actually details the "rent installments" , as they call them, per floor plan. So if you went with a different option than mine it tells you that price.
