Hey Steve. I know 100% what happened to the 12v Cummins. You put the battery on the concrete floor and it absorbed some exotic chemicals from the floor. As a result the exotic material went thru the electrical system and impregnated itself in the oil that sabotage the motor. 100%

As a heavy equipment operator the environmental bullshit is closing in on my career big time , the def machines suck and are always broken down super unreliable then they want to do away with diesel and make everything electric soon but we have no options for construction equipment . They now make a tiny mini excavator that is electric , it runs for like 4 hours and takes something like 24 to charge back up

This makes no sense. I have hundreds of customers that I've taken their trucks apart. Never had an issue because I make sure they use quality stuff. Y'all confuse a content driven cheap ass truck to something that just works and doesn't need to make content. This was an experiment truck. Build it, test it, see what works and make a living off KZfaq off of it. Worked well for over a year. I told y'all I was going to torture test it and abuse it. What did y'all expect 😂😂

@@CPSteveMiller you even said in your video that you shouldn't have taken it apart. Also you said you lost 10k by not being able to operate the truck. I have to point out the obvious: truck was OK and then you went to 100% waste oil for fuel. Yes, it "ran" but you also had a lot of failures building up to the total engine failure after you did the rebuild.Only a fool continues down a path to failure because of pig headiness. JUst some advice from an ol guy. Lessons that should be learned: Cheap parts cost you in the long run. Diesel engines will "run" on most any oil byproduct. Doesn't mean they will last long doing so. As a business your equipment must be more than 50% reliable.90%+ is the standard. What you have into something by no means is an indication of its value: I've got a 2001 harley in my garage with over $20,000.00 in engine and other upgrades. Bought it for less than $12,000.00 all in from a dealership. Your equipment is the tools of your business. Forget the crap to make it look "fancy" or sound "cool". Go for functionality and reliability: nothing else.Example: a 5" exhaust sounds neat and gives you a 1 to 2% increase in fuel economy: that 1 to 2% does NOT justify the expense. Start thinking like a business owner and not a kid.
@CPSteveMiller
@CPSteveMiller Жыл бұрын
Damn almost like I'm still in business and not hurting 😂 Waste Oil didn't do any damage. There was nothing wrong with the engine when I took it apart. Ppump rod was broke since day 1. I just happened to fix it 2 and a half years later. Every tank of oil was $750 kept in my pocket. Saved 20 or 30k in fuel since I started. Now I can get me that nice newer truck. I'll part mine out for 10k, get the content, get the newer truck, and I'm still winning. You aren't thinking like a business owner if you're wasting money on fuel when you can run for free 😂

@@CPSteveMiller Difference of opinions. I just sold my manufacturing company and call myself semi-retired. Proceeds will last for 30 to 75 years (depends on if I leave the U.S.) without any other source of income. My you-tube channel is a way for me to keep track of things: needing "content" never enters into my thought process. You think 100% waste oil is prudent: continue to do so with your newer truck and we shall see how that works out for you. Obvious question is the one that's "obvious": if it's such a good idea why isn't it the accepted practice? It isn't because all diesel engine owners are foolish with their money..... Just FYI: diesel engines running low grade or bunker fuel always pre-heat the alternate fuel. That does 2 things: the heated fuel is at a lower viscosity and as a pre-heated fuel it combusts more easily. If ran as a cold fuel it hydro shocks the pistons,rings and valve train. That will cause pre-mature failure. Same holds true with the injection pump: the foolish design and mechanical engineers designed the pump to pressurize the fuel with a known viscosity in a normal operating range. How silly of them to do that.....

KZfaq: Hi, its me again. I just got my DOT and MC numbers. I was thinking of renting a Kaufman wedge for $350 a week until buckeye finish building my trailer. Do you think this is a good idea? Is there anything I should be concerned about. If I go this route, I want to be completely prepared. I don't want to purchase the insurance policy which is about $4,000 the first month while every month after is $2,000; then ended up shut down by the authorities because some small detail was missed. Any advice?

If you have your mc number you are required to have insurance right away even if you're not running. I used a company transcompservice.com for my stuff. They'll make sure your company is set up correctly. As for renting a wedge I'd go that route if you're waiting for a trailer or just run freight.

You have no idea what you're talking about 😂 I went without pay for 8 months with my first business back in 2018. Started HotShotting in October and got all my stuff paid back up about 6 months later. Then got hit with that legal battle. Almost 3 years later it's over. Lost so much revenue and 40k in cash. I never had the option to fix my credit or at least I didn't know how to. Now all my bills are paid and I built up my business with all cash. Easy for someone who didn't live through it to talk shit but years later I'm doing alright.
