Personally I love this kind of video, and I really appreciate your perspective on the way people are used by these companies for profit. I HATE the short videos and usually just stay off Tik Tok unless I’m searching for reviews on a very specific product.

Thanks for watching and for the feedback! I really noticed recently how I felt like a cog in a machine on Instagram and asked myself "what's my 'why' for creating reels?" And truthfully, I didn't have a good answer. Now I've shifted my focus to KZfaq and back to blogging (which is why I started using IG in the first place!) And I feel so much happier and peaceful.

I think our attention span has gotten smaller and smaller as social media advanced and news travels faster and faster just like you said. That's probably why short form does well. I also wonder - would you get "penalized " if you made a longer video like this one and then used select pieces to create a youtube short? I'm not sure if youtube allows that but if so I would totally do that. I remember a few years ago hearing a different creator say "it's important to recycle your work. Make life easier for yourself. Use 1 piece of content in 3 ways and you'll make your job easier ". I thought that was interesting. 😊

You are 100% correct! I read that we take in nearly 5X the information that people did in the 80s...which is absolutely wild when you think about it! I can only imagine how much shorter our attention spans are becoming with the constant dopamine hits from watching short form content 😆 also, you can take longer videos and convert them to shorts - I'm fairly certain there's a way you can even automate it with YT now.
