I love seeing people's Tolkien collections, they are always such beautiful editions. I have the new illustrated collected white cover one coming today and I am mega excited.

I just bought the Lord of the Rings box set for my husband for Christmas. I ordered it from book depository because they had the editions I wanted. They are a hardcover edition with Tolkien's original cover art. They came in the mail the other day, and I have had to hide them from myself because I am dying to open them up and look at them😂. Don't feel bad for not liking a book that so many others do. Can you imagine how boring the world would be if we all liked the same things?

I have 8 versions of the Hobbit - 6 are illustrated. Only 2 versions of LOTR. I also own a a few lesser known Tolkien stories: and ventures of Tom bombadil, smith of wootten major, & farmer Giles of ham, leaf by niggle & letters from Father Christmas. And a Tolkien scrapbook. My favorite is my very first copy of the hobbit that is from unwin books in the UK and is a cover of an early illustration by Tolkien 💗 and of course Hurin, Simarillion, Beren and Lúthien, The Fall of Gondolin, & Roverandom. My copy of Beowulf is also a translation and commentary by Tolkien

The illustrated editions looks beautiful. I would love to get some illustrated editions of The Lord of the Rings. The art book of art by Tolkien looks amazing.

I love that green cover of The Hobbit! I've never owned a copy of that edition, and neither have my parents, but if I ever see it in a used bookstore, I'll snap it up! I LOVE that book you showed at the end with Tolkien's own art of his work. WOW. I had no idea that existed! Great video. :)

I love _LOTR._ I've read it just 3 times, but it's such a great epic fantasy. _The Hobbit_ is fun.

I absolutely love The Hobbit book itself. Probably my favorite of the LOTR universe. Hey no Mea Culpa needed. LOTR isn’t for everyone and there are plenty of other adventures in books to like! I am reading an illustrated version of the Hobbit in David's current reading group. I love those art books so much. Visiting Hobbiton in New Zealand made me really love Lord of the Rings more. The Lord of the Rings books aren't my favourite actual reading experience but I really appreciate the world so much. No idea on Tolkien's art background sorry haha!

Before the Peter Jackson’s LotR movies came out, I asked my brother if I could borrow his books. He did this face: 🤨 . Then he suggested I start with The Hobbit, and that if I didn’t like it, I shouldn’t bother with LotR. I didn’t like The Hobbit. So I didn’t bother with LotR. I have a wise brother. 😁

Honestly, even if I love Lord of the Rings, I definitely have a complicated relationship too. It took me years to finish the first book because I was so bored, and then I loved the second two books. Probably an uncommon opinion, lol. My mom has a pocket paperback set of LotR and it's my favorite too. And gosh, so many pretty copies of LotR.
