Fun little fact! The Target Exclusive dolls were released because they partnered with Target in Australia in 2002!

My twin and I collectively collected the whole line of MK and A - funny tho cuz as twins we didn’t plan or know each other was doing so as her path lead her to a different state than I was. But when we came together we both had done so. She got more into collecting everything of theirs but we both did magazine and cologne health and beauty products and hats and shoes. She got me and herself the bedding and bedroom suite!!! Loved the furniture!!! She has signed us both up for the membership pkg… so fun!! Of course all the VHS/CD/tapes/dvds…. She collected more than me. Where I lived, a lot got pulled from Walmart when MK got sick w eating disorder and no longer could endorse their products. Where she lived, was able to still get them…

I’ve never really collected the Mary-Kate & Ashley dolls, but I’m super interested in the Winning London dolls! I love their outfits and hair! I would totally get those!

Yay! My favorite set is winning London because it was one of my favorite movies. I had the movie magic dolls. I compared them to my 90s skipper doll as they were similar body and height. I made skipper thier best friend and swapped clothes. I would have loved the so little time ones with the art set. I love that you have every doll and every outfit in box and on the doll for display.

For a long time before you and Derrick, I don’t recall seeing anyone really making MK & Ash doll content that was helpful for other collectors. I had my Flickr account, where I posted my personal collection there, but that was pretty much it haha. I’m glad there’s more collectors breaking down in detail this line, as it was one of Mattel’s best IMO. Curl and Style’s hair was a special type of memory hair, so when you curl it or crimp it, it holds for a while. That’s why it was that colour and also the texture of it feels quite different. That hair type was only rooted in the front parts, but in the back, it’s just regular saran I believe. If played with too much, it ends up becoming super wiry and frizzy, but fun to play with & recreate some of their hairstyles during that time 😄🩵

Watching this so giddy because I love seeing all the sets and fashions that I never even knew about! 💕 I can remember having Movie Magic Mary-Kate, Sweet 16 Ashley, At the Beach Ashley, and a Curl & Style Ashley. ☺️ Such a stellar collection as always. 💫💖

If you get into a lot of doll restoration you may want to look into products made specifically for cleaning dolls and doll clothes. I read about one called twinpines several years ago. I bought some of their products and was happy with the results.

I have over 100 chers that I dressed in the Bob Mackie fashion that belongs to her from the 70s. To include some from Montgomery wards that were exclusive to the store. As a Barbie stop motion page. I was happy when a eBay user sent me a pair of marykate and Ashley dolls on made to move bodies. I can’t wait to show them off !!

30:01 I feel like they did the whole paper accessories thing alot for barbies in the early 2000s especially the happy family line and the fashion packs. Like 60 percent of the accessories were paper and i have to be soooo careful handling them because i hate to see them crumpled

I actually know exactly where the OOAK Mary Kate & Ashley dolls are 🙈 🤭….. They were purchased by a legend in the doll community, Judene Hansen. She owned a doll shop/museum in West Palm Beach called Dream Dolls Gallery & More. She retired in 2015? But she most likely still has them in her private collection ❤

My niece got me another maxie doll instead of the Hawaiian skipper doll. I guess she felt that i wanted the maxie doll more than the skipper doll. I will get that skipper doll another time. The maxie doll has thick crimped blonde hair. I will wash her hair later and wash her body.
