With the squad announcement due in a few days, we take a look at the potential players Southgate will be taking to Germany for the Euros.
This would be my squad, probably a bit harsh on Colwill looking back at it now but I got flustered because I couldn't even tell it was him lol.

I’ve done my 26 man squad and I’ve got Leif Davis in mine (was also looking at Alfie Doughty) there isn’t much in LB atall and I don’t back Shaw and Chillwell with their injury records of recent so Davis has put up very good numbers for a while now so he goes for me, have him, Mainoo and Wharton for some experience as they will most definitely all be there for the next WC and we don’t have too much depth in their positions as of now

I agree with your squad except for the following: Rashford can't go, shocking season - Gordon instead (had a great debut in March for England). Don't want Sterling near England again, take Solanke. Mainoo should be going instead of Wharton. Current form I'd also take Harvey Elliott over one of Maddison/Grealish as well. I'd rather have Eze in there than Hendo as well.

That Man Utd PR is strong asf. Gordon has been so far above Rahford this season, his only con is he looks like Clare Balding. If Rashford wasn't a Man Utd player he wouldn't get so much protection.

I get your point of having a group who are familiar with each other but I also just think it’s not fair for a player like Gordon who has been fantastic this season to be left out just because Rashford has played for England more times. With that logic no one who’s had a good season should go over our current squad (who haven’t won anything). It wasn’t even like Gordon had a crap debut for England either against Brazil. I’d be gutted for him, lad never stops running. It’s what we need as Ik Rashford is a good player on his day but you’d be deluded to sweep under the rug the countless times where he can’t even be arsed to track back. I just think it’s logical to rotate players especially a hungry lad who is looking to prove himself. Like Gordon. A lad who won best player at the U21 Euros last season. Which was Gordon. I’m not trying to be a dick I’m just saying in my opinion Gordon a million times over Rashford!

@@puffin7285 well yeah because the pressure at united is more than palace which helps with the pressure of playing for England I’d say weighing up form & experience the gaps closing in now, but I wouldn’t chuck Gordon in when he’s had no experience playing with the squad. If the euros was in a year, I’d be picking Gordon for the warm up games & getting him used to the set up but it’s just not the right time

I think Harvey Elliott deserves a spot to be honest. Yes he's young but he has consistent performances week in week out and has done so for last 2 seasons at least. Has played better than Rashford and Mainoo.

I do agree with you about not bringing him though, in terms of form and quality I reckon he's got to play ahead of Walker when we need any support whatsoever in the final third, but if he reckons hes too good to sit on a bench all summer let him go to benidorm
