I love the backup blanky!!! My son went blanky-free from agrs 4-8, but he discovered a supersoft new blanket that i had draped on the arm of the couch & i never did get to use it lol! It was a pretty costly wool LL bean blanket that I was planning to use that winter, but we decided a well made wool luvvy would last him decades and made good sense as a security blanket for an older kid. he even now will wrap himself in it and cocoon, he loves that no one suspects a sage green LL bean blanket is a "blanky."

Ohmygosh the VALIDATION that I felt when you showed your childhood blankie and said you still sleep with it.... I almost cried in validation. I've slept with a pink satiny blankie my entire life. When I was 12, the dog we'd had since I was born died and I buried my first blankie with him; I got a new one (satin on one side & fleecy on the other), and have slept with it every.single.night since then. I'm almost 29. Brought it to college, even a stereotypical wild college spring break trip. It's literally coming apart at the seams, so I'm going to learn how to sew this year! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing, Julia❤❤❤ Silly tip for any satin blanket owners: put it in the freezer for a little while -- cold satin is the best satin, especially in the summer
