I've been meaning to make this video for a while. This is my story of being raised as and leaving the jehovah's witness religion. I left because I fundamentally disagree with the belief system. I know there are a lot of people either beginning to have doubts or thinking of leaving the organization. Know that you are not alone. Feel free to leave a comment or contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!
P.s. I have allergies this time of year, sorry if I sound sick.

Plan for your exit. Prepare. Play the game until you are ready. Have or make friends with people on the outside, find the best job you can. Then, make your move. Until then, play their game. Don't be too hasty. Think it through. You know what they will do. Be prepared. Be ready. This man making this video is what we all go through. You start from scratch. This is one of the best videos for anyone contemplating leaving. One of the best, because it is how we all feel or felt at one time. Leaving is difficult, not impossible!

@@jimbobaggans1564 you are so right. However, I was a great deal older than him. So at my mature age, I simply left and never looked back. I told my mom why and she respected my decision. We are still close. Nothing changed with my family who is still JWs. My mom was and still is about family being there for each other in good and bad times. I have made many bad decisions in my past, and it never voided how we love through it. I hea those horrible 😭 stories where families are torn apart and it's so sad. You can go off into drugs and they are there for you, you can go to prison and their still there for you. Yet, you cant disagree about how you feel without banning you! Should be a wake-up call for them. I'm a mom of two and there is nothing anyone could say to me to ever physically, mentally leave/ forget my children whom God said was an inheritance from God! Yet they allow 8 men, whom they no absolutely nothing about tell them they can no longer be around. We're talking about blood relatives here. It saddens my ❤️. I will continue to pray 🙏 for those of you who have lost your families or afraid to comeout, so to speak. When it's a constitutional right. For fear of loosing your family. Vengeance Is Mine! The Lord says.

I enjoyed listening to your story! 😎 WT/GB will pay a hefty price for their harmful policies that have affected so many wonderful families. Their days are numbered! Stay strong and keep us update on how you're progressing on your journey. I began to wake up from the JW's by reading about Mormons and watching videos of episodes entitled.."I was a Mormon"...Then John Dehlin's excommunication was broadcast on television. I started following him and I noticed a ton of similarities between the JW's and the Mormons. This was an eye-opener for me!! After that I got the courage to go to KZfaq and look up.. "Why do people leave the Jehovah's Witnesses faith"...that's when I really started waking up! I became obsessed listening to all ExJW stories on KZfaq and the FEAR of the "so called" apostates that we are taught to detest started to become a different reality, they are just people telling their experiences when they were an active JW and why they left..So all the stigma started to dwindle. Then I branched out and started looking into Seventh Day Adventist, Scientology, Christadelphians, The Brethren, Christian Science.. I started noticing the parallels between all the religions, and it runs deep...no questioning, no doubting and everything comes from the top down. The rank-and-file are just the followers with no personal self, no individuality. After you wake up and start seeing these things it can take a toll on you, especially if this is the only thing you have known all your life! It is really tough! The phobias and fears, can mess with a person's mind...Now I see why a lot of people resort to suicide, it is scary but the good thing is there's help!! The internet has played a big part in all of this!!.. Now I look at people as being just human beings trying to do their best, trying to deal with all the stresses and anxieties in this world. I can now honestly say that life is better on the outside! 💯

FIRST of all, Hey cutie! Second: I totally feel everything in this story. This was me about a year and a half ago as well. The thing is, they make it seem like people don't just leave the organization for doctrinal issues or anything. If people leave everyone assumes this person just cannot keep up with the moral rigor of an organization that stiff. But the problem is there are plenty of people just like us. My Bible-basee CONSCIENCE really would not allow me to go out in service anymore, knowing how stuff didn't add up. And just like you, the more I studied THEIR LITERATURE, the more I learned how far from the truth it really was. The first thing folks tend to ask you when you express you're having doubts is, "What have you been reading?' And I'm like "Nothing but the Watchtower!" I never once got in trouble or did anything to "bring reproach upon Jehovah's name." Like I was doing everything you're supposed to do. I had excellent intentions and wanted to do what's right by God. But there comes a time in your young adult life when you have to determine who are these people that are inserting themselves in between you and God? The Bible is very clear that Jesus is the only mediator for us imperfect humans, so where does this governing body even come from? And they were all good until they started really doing more of these videos and showing their face and showing how immature and childish they are. Once I started seeing that, all of my doubts from my youth started coming back, and now I can just see it for what it is. A regular corporate office. These guys don't even look like or act like anyone who is dignified or coming from God. They ought to be ashamed of themselves how many people's lives they ruined. Well I'm so glad to hear of other people coming out of there, and especially young people still have the rest of our lives in front of us. Live your best life, I am so proud of you exclamation point and just let me know whenever you're in the A. The weather is gorgeous down here!

Hi Sam, I feel for you. I was raised in "the truth" also. I was an OVER ACHIEVER who auxiliary pioneered in high school too. I was a very good JW growing up. I never felt deprived growing up. I never had any doubts it was the truth. I was about 30 when I abruptly woke up to realize it wasn't the "truth." I found out about some wrongdoing that was not being addressed within my congregation, and I felt conscientiously obligated to pursue and see that it got addressed. The elders were covering up some wrongdoing and I had proof of it on a taped telephone conversation. I even attempted to call the Watchtower service department in NY. I was shocked that they didnt want to step in or send a circuit overseer down to investigate it. I even offered to send them a copy of the tape recording I had, but they didn't want it. It was at that point, I began to have my first doubts. That's when I began doing research and found out there was a ton of corruption that reached all the way to the top. My whole world came crashing down, and it was at about this same time both my parents died. I have a brother and sister whom are still in the organization that have not spoken to me in over 20 years. It took a lot of time to make new friends, because as a "good JW" I never had friends outside the Kingdom Hall. I still believe in God, but have not found a church which I feel is teaching in accordance with scripture. I like you, feel I am now a much better person than I ever was when I was a JW. I know too much to ever go back to that corrupt religion. So many people are being mislead but I dont think they will wake up until something monumental wakes them and they experience something first hand. Know that you are not alone, hopefully some day your mom and sister will wake up.

Your story sounds a lot like mine. I began to have doubts about 3 years ago. I started looking at videos on KZfaq too and came across Fifths channel and a few others. I also saw the royal commission and it shook me to hear Jeffery Jackson a governing body member say that it would be presumptuous to think that we’re the only organization that has Gods favor. Then after that finding out that they were NGOs with the United Nations, that turned the lights all the way on. We were always taught that they would turn on us but they were friends with them. I wish you the best and good luck.

I was raised in the "truth", and I knew it wasn't for me since I was 9. I am scarred for life, man. I am not gonna make videos on anything or actively say anything publicly until my father has either left the JW cult, or passes, because even though I have been disfellowshipped for 20 years, it would kill him if I was to actually speak out, no matter how painful it is to me. I haven't spoken to my father in 10 years, and it hurts me deeply. I hate that cult from my heart.

You are a very courageous young man! You are true to yourself. The fear and confusion may last for a couple of years. I left because I figured out they were preaching a different Jesus and a different gospel by twisting the scriptures, and even writing their own version of the Bible to make themselves appear to have the truth! I found the real Jesus is loving and a healer, restorer of broken hearts. As A JW I was not allowed to pray to him! I found Christ first, then discovered how ugly the society is. Most JW’s find the ugly, leave, and never know the real truth. “you search the scriptures thinking that in THEM you will find eternal life, but you are not willing to come to ME to have life” John 5:39

Hi Sammy. I am so happy for you that you got out of that religion at the age of 21. I joined when I was 19 and stayed in it for 50 years and I don't remember a day when I wasn't depressed because of it. I loved the brothers and sisters too but it was the religion itself is what depressed me. I didn't enjoy having to go to the meetings or field service either but I slogged on and on and on. I got out 5 years ago and it was the best decision of my life. It took me a while too for the fear of Armageddon to leave but now, even though I lost every "friend" I had at the hall, that dread Watchtower put on me all those years is gone. Enjoy your freedom!!!

It makes me so sad to hear how this organization breaks up families and the aftermath of these breakups. What god can be in favor of that?? I hope your family wakes up and that they learn what unconditional love is someday. In the meantime, enjoy your freedom and cherish those who love you unconditionally.

Hi Sammy, Thank you so much for sharing your awesome story. I'm here watching it 4 years after you posted it. You are awesome and so brave and handsome. You look just like my nephew. Im happy to know you were able to get out of that w!cked and destructive cult while you were still so young, so you would have enough time to heal and have a good normal life with normal people. You story will help others who are struggling to get put. Im happy to know you were still able to speak to your mom after leaving, I hope that one day her and many others will wake up and realize that they were deceived. Stay strong, continue on your great journey, and I wish you a great life.

30:15 - i feel your pain in the guilt you feel towards your mom and sis about your decision. But in the end; we all have a free will, they preach it a lot. So sad they can live up to what they claim and you’re “not allowed” to make your own choice. This org destroys families, i know exactly ehat you’re going through ( went through) Sooo glad that you’re brave enough to share this! I got you and all of the ex JW’s Never felt more related too all of you. Thank you again for this touching video ❤️ from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

Good story! It’s a lot similar to mine. I was also raised as a JW but never got baptized. I hated going out to the ministry and gave out comments. Volunteered at annual assemblies at the contribution boxes and just really immersed myself in the religion without actually sealing it with baptism. I been having doubts since I was 16. And it’s interesting the summer of 2017 I started waking up slowly. I spent all day researching about the religion, even after coming from service and being active. I was 18 at this time. Finally, my mom caught on because after awhile I started going to kh less and stopped commenting all together , and on a Sunday morning she came into my room asking why I’m not dressed and I told her bluntly “I’m not going”. And that’s when our relationship severed. It was hard cuz after a couple weeks everyone in the congregation started shunning me and I was confused cuz I didn’t think they would even if I wasn’t baptized. I thought my friendships were strong enough but I guess not. I felt so alone cuz at the time my mom and sister would avoid me. Now our relationship is a bit better. I had two friends who weren’t JWs and they didn’t understand what I was going thru of course, they honestly thought I was making a big deal. At the time, about a month out I met my boyfriend and he at first thought I was making a big deal as well cuz everyone just tells me “it’s just a religion, you just don’t have to go anymore”, they had a hard time understanding the repercussions of leaving and although I was not baptized it was still a mental battle for me to leave. I’m happy I’m out of that cult tbh and I still haven’t made friends partly cuz of social anxiety that i think was brought on by being raised a witness. I was a mess so my two friends that weren’t JWs eventually we stopped being friends (I guess they weren’t really “real” friends). Thankfully I have my boyfriend by my side but he doesn’t fully understand why I’m still struggling with all this. This religion honestly ruined my life from childhood to adulthood..

Hey. We have the same name! But anyhow I was NVR baptized In the religion but was a study and became an unbaptized publisher once and I quit and they barely let me. I became a study again and I was shunned! I can go on and on about the problems I saw in this religion. Anyhow good thing no one in my real family is in that religion.

Since 2015 there are more and more whistleblowers. This global momentum is growing year by year. Things are moving a lot in Europe. There is more and more voluntary withdrawal. Belgium, Denmark, France, Holland, and Poland follow suit. The end of the WT is inescapable. Hello from France and forgiveness for the faults.

My children always told me they just didn't get it and I had to respect their decision. JWs. like to say You have to want to but that's not true. If you don't want to they label you. If Jesus had done that to us, we would not be here today. He gave his life for us while we were still sinners and if He can give us the benefit of the doubt what can man do to me. Exactly, nothing!
