The more I get to know the kpop industry, the more it’s gets disgusting. It’s not like the fairytales, it’s hardship behind hardship, and nobody really think about that. We see all these successful idols, but we will never know what they really had to pass by to be on they are now. And the worst is: not everybody will have the chance to be on top (especially those who are from small/underrated companies). It’s so sad when you think about it. I’m glad that you had courage to talk about your personal experiences, and I wish for you just the best. ❤️ You nice, keep going.

I think what is the most shocking thing is that we can barely see the hardship the idols go through. The are so good at HIDING their pain and thats what makes me respect them a lot because of the things they go through. We often tell idols and criticize them for their performance, their attitude etc., but we really do underestimate their "behind the scenes"

Taking out one's own identity and putting out a "perfect image" is one mistake that idol companies are making. They always send a wrong message to the public that idols are perfect and that they can never go wrong. No wonder that some fans bash their idols, to the extent of petitioning them to be evicted from their group, once they get involve in some "scandals". Why not let that person be who they are? If the "scandal" is forgivable, then give them a second chance. At least, ppl will see that these idols are not at all perfect and that they are also just like you and me. It might even help with their anxiety and other mental issues.

I can't believe they'd want you to be someone else. You seem so sweet and genuine! I think that's why so many idols develop depression because their humanity is taken away from them. It's very sad, companies and fans seem to forget that they're human and individuals who are not cookie cutter perfect all the time. I hope you now have the freedom to explore your talents and passions without so much pressure and stress.

I feel like small and big companies both have their advantages and disadvantages and trainees of both have their own hardships. However some others believe that groups from smaller companies suffer more because their success isn’t guaranteed (although trainees of all companies have uncertainty and can be kicked out at anytime as well I think?), and others compare it to small universities and big universities. I’m really curious what you think about it! It’s been debated by many people but as you experienced trainee life, what do you think?

it’s kinda like bts vs blackpink. bts struggled really badly to get to the top, but they have more liberties artistically and have no strict dating ban or rules against going out etc. blackpink had instant success coming out because YG is a huge company, but they don’t really have that much liberty. it’s better treatment than previous YG groups i guess but i think the girls go through a lot more than they let on at the hands of the company. that’s just my opinion.

I almost became an idol. I got a business card from a company and made it through the audition. I was excited but when we became trainees, the mentors they got for us were so rude and shady. Like it wasn’t even just being strict to make us dance better. They were extremely toxic. They overworked us and we showed that we were exhausted but they would keep telling us “just one more time” but it was never one more time. One time, one of the other trainees was on her period one time and she informed the mentor. The mentor was a female too. So you’d think she’d understand but she literally gave her a tampon and told her she needed to still dance like she would when she wasn’t on period. It wasn’t just the mentors too. The CEO was extremely toxic too and would often comment on our weight and would feed us quarter of what they normally would for lunch every time they thought we gained weight and try and they’re rules were actually stupid. There were 5 of us and eventually the 2nd member who joined quit and soon after everyone else followed. Worsts experience ever. So watching this video makes me feel so much more relieved that I quit before getting further involved

I have seen, read, and listened to so many different kind of stories of how to become an idol, the difficulties, things they didn't like, things they did like, the diets they had to do, the way companies treat them, big companies, small companies, exploiting, training, the people you meet, the secrets, conditions small companies trainees live, the way companies barely give you a say on the things you do, accidents, lawsuits, contracts etc, etc.... I have looked for SO MUCH!! But no matter how many bad things I have seen the companies do, or what the difficulties the idols go through, I still want to experience it. This is something I guess I have become really determined with, and no matter what I see, nothing changes my mind, I just get more mentally prepared. I don't know if i'm stupid, crazy or what but I really like it. I love the fact idols do so many different things and learn from them. It is hard and competitive, and I know, but I think that if someone really wants to achieve their dreams, there are no easy paths, so I want to continue trying hard for the things I want, even if I may not be able to achieve it, trying will be enough.

At the end what matters the most is the things we put our heart & soul into what we really want to do , show or express but being ordered , compelled to do things just for sake of attention feels So so Fake & I'm glad at the end you followed your heart making that decision must be so difficult for you & U're so brave it needs courage to move out of herd of sheep ...Your real time starts now 😊

reminds me of a psychologist i saw a youtubevideo interview of recently. what he said was (roughtly):"if you are not in agreement with something, you really have to say something, because once is not bad, but it will really hurt your spirit in the long run"

I'm a new viewer of your vids and all I could say is... thank you for doing this video. You were brave enough to undergo all those struggles and braver to be leaving. I think the best part of it was you were able to get to know yourself. You did great. I hope you can fully recover from the mental stress from being a kpop idol

Thank you for this! I'm so sorry for all the bad things you had to go through but I'm also happy for how you got through them and where you are now. This also made me start to empathize a lot more with my fav idols more than I already did. Yes, I always loved them and respected them but now I truly respect them for everything they endure and how hard they work. :)

I thank you for your honesty. I know it can be hard because you don't know how people will react and it's awesome that you took your life into your hands and decided to leave because it's not who you are. I remember from Joan's video that you had to dye/bleach your hair blonde and I already don't like that because it can be so painful, props to those who do though. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, without people like you, who knows how many other people might go into that thinking its peaches and roses to be an idol.

Thank you for sharing your story. You are so strong, Tina! I hope you get to follow your dreams and passions, where ever they take you. I think my biggest issue with the idol industry is that the kids start out so young. They have no idea what the contracts mean, and they grow up in this bubble. It just feels so wrong that the companies have so much power over the lives of trainees and idols.

I think there are a lot of parallels between kpop and KZfaq. Hopefully what you learned about what you like, how to cope with stress, and what to reveal to your audience as your persona can translate to the skills needed to be on KZfaq. But now you get to make those decisions. I wish you the best! ❤

I've never criticised or said anything negative about an idol as i really admire their dedication and the mental strength that allows them to tolerate some really questionable treatment by company's managers, staff and toxic fans. These young men and women are doing their best to reach their dreams under extreme pressure and constraints put upon them by their contracts and company. Often clearly afraid to speak out and say too much out of fear....I thank you for your video and hope you continue to battle on knowing that there are kind people out in the world that understand and support you.

Thank you for uploading this series, it's my dream to become a professional singer someday and your videos really helped me realize that despite the many cons being an artist or idol in general might give it's still something I'm not yet willing to give up on because I believe it's the only chance I'll have to be able to do what I loved most. My point being thank you for doing the series and being completley honest as to how the reality is.
