Hola, en Roma hace años , en una exposición de Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio he visto un cuadro iniciado, dibujado pero sin terminar. Con un fondo oscuro el dibujo y solo pintado las luces . No se si ese color era un amarillo, o un blanco envejecido, oxidado .Tal vez un amarillo muy subido pueda ser más asumido por la capas superiores ,sin resultar tan contrastante como ocurre con el blanco. No olvidemos que la clave de colores en los tenebristas es baja, así que cualquier color algo subido resulta luminoso. El efecto del cuadro sin terminar y solo con las luces amarillentas le daba un aspecto fantasmal, esa sensación me produjo , por eso me quedó grabado , tengo trabajos donde trató de reproducir esa técnica . Yo creo que primero se usa el color de sombra hasta conseguir el retrato, una vez ya seco todo por completo se procede a refrescar el lienzo con aceite para usar el color blanco si te exedes en blanco puedes retirarlo con un trapo (la capa de atrás no se saldrá, ya está seco) y así evitaríamos que el blanco y el sombra se combinen dando un todo raro que no queda con la iluminación de la obra, no sé si me entienden espero les sirva ya que hay muchas formas de llegar a un buen resultado. Y buena explicación la del video, gracias

Miré atentamente este vídeo y debo decirte que quedé impresionado al ver cómo ibas reproduciendo los tonos y los matices que empleaba Caravaggio en esa pintura. Te quedó similar en un 95 por ciento, eres un excelente reproductor de estas telas del genial Caravaggio. Si bien soy un pintor de circunstancias, no cultivo el arte figurativo, prefiero la pintura sugerente, con formas nunca acabadas sino apenas delineadas para que sea el observador quien complete la figura en su propio imaginario personal. Sin embargo, Caravaggio nunca me deja de cautivar. Quedo asombrado al ver cómo logró exteriorizar las emociones y plasmarlas en una pintura. Quizás otro pintor figurativo emergente sea el chileno Guillermo Lorca, de 39 años de edad actualmente. Posee una técnica asombrosa, su combinación de figuras y coloridos es también impactante. Desarrolla cuadros de grande dimensiones, todos figurativos y de detalles prolijos. Felicitaciones por este vídeo y por supuesto también por tu habilidad artística.

I learned to paint with oil paints using this technique! My teacher didn't use white, but something similar to this Caravaggio technique. I miss painting, especially with oil paint, but it's expensive😭

Very interesting video. I'm but a Newbie in Art with Brushes, but it fascinates me nonetheless just as much as music , which is my first chosen free-time activity. Your video was short but very informative, the visuals were very pleasing and not too flashy or fast. All in all an excellent study in my opinion. At times it felt so intuitive, I didn't even realise I was watching a video with subtitles. Nicely done. The artwork as well, of course.

A tell tale sign would be the shadow that defines t'he bridge of the nose. In the copy it's harsher than in the original. Meaning no disrespect to the excellent and extremeny knowledgeable painter who's taken the time to break up for us Caravaggio's technique. ¡Muchas gracias, de la parte de una entusiasta de Caravaggio! ¡Excelente contenido!

siena tostada, rojo pirrol, sombra natural y poquito azul ultramar para los ojos. El Terra Rosa es un rojo óxido bastante anaranjado, en otras marcas quizás el tono más cercano sea el Ocre Rojo, pero el Rojo Indio, Rojo Óxido o Rojo de Venecia te pueden servir bien, quizás sean más rojizos pero con un poquito de ocre puedes compensar eso. Winton también tiene un tono que se llama Rojo Claro, que es igual un rojo óxido.

Il peignait frais dans frais... avec une pression du pinceau très faible pour ne pas entraîner la couche précédente, sans doute... pour ce qui est de Léonard de Vinci, je ne vois personne faire ce qu il a fait pour ce qui est de la réfraction de la lumière par exemple: il a fait du 3D...

That’s amazing, please can you tell, what colors did you use except white, yellow ocher and terra Rosa? And did you know, what is the most similar color for terra Rosa? I can’t fined this paint in shops( Thanks!

In other brands they call it Red Ochre, but if you find Red Oxide, Venetian Red or Indian Red they can work too, Terra Rosa is a little more Orange, but you can fix that adding a bit of Yellow Ochre. In my palette I have Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Pyrrole Red and I used a little Ultramarine for the white of the eyes.

He used a camera obscura, just like vermeer, but with different results due to lighting and technique. Caravaggio painted alla prima, indoors.
