I worked at Unisea for the "A" season of 2023. Safeway is way to expensive! Ship supply had some good prices on certain things. I had fun though. I worked in the freezer.

Good video, I learned a lot. Question: why is there so little SPORT fishing operations there?
@jbtalking3 ай бұрын
Probably lots of reasons. Location. Lack of hotel rooms. Little promotion. Government regulations. Seward, AK has more sport fishing.

Does it rain 🌧 too much

It rains a lot there. Very strong winds as well. Rain goes sideways most of the time.

Very isolated though. Unisea paid for anyone who wanted to leave. I have so many videos of all the Bald Eagles. I fed them outside my window in my room. Not supposed to of course, but everyone did. I wouldn't mind going back, just for another company though.

so what problems you had with unisea? i think i will go work there and want to be prepared
@Tommy_IrishАй бұрын
@@TheBillz123 I personally didn't have any problems. What to expect: 1st: Isolation. Cell phone service is hit and miss. 2nd: There is only one gas station on the entire island. Hardly even open. 3rd: Everything is expensive! Cigarettes cost the same as the lower 48, but everything is extremely high. 4th: They always talked about tsunami's all the time. Right behind my dorm is an active volcano 🌋. No worries though. 5th: Hardly anyone speaks English. Just hard to understand your supervisor. That was about as bad as it was. All in all, it was a positive experience. The pay is good. Watch out for Safeway. They try to overcharge you for shit. If you have direct deposit you'll be better off. If not they have a bank there. Key Bank. Mostly I had fun. Especially with feeding the Bald Eagles right outside my window. If you can take not being in constant contact with your family, you'll be fine. I went for "A" season. Winter time in Alaska and they had me work in the freezer! Lol. I loved that job.
