Hi Saffrin, I found our backgrounds pretty similar: I am currently doing my undergrad at UC San Diego with a major in Cognitive Science w/ Specialization in Machine Learning and Neural Computation (the short name is also COGS) with a minor in Computer Science and Engineering. I am planning on applying for the MDS program at UBC, but I'm not sure how different it is compared to MDSCL. From your video it seems like the MDSCL program has a clearer focus in NLP, and from what I have heard from people, the MDS program is more geared towards software engineering/stats. Do you know any of your friends who are doing MDS?
