I grow up in a Caribbean household with both parents who were not afraid to hit us. However ,1. it stopped when I turned 15, 2. MY FATHER NEVER EVER SLAPED ME, and 3. my father rarely ever hit us. I can only remember him hitting me twice. See at the time my dad was a big guy so all he had to do was talk and his kids listened. Mom on the other hard God bless her soul we were a handful.

Soo err the hit part as a child isn’t really ya now wrong it is a way of punishment and it was very common some time ago and yea when adult it’s weird but the dad must’ve learned that from somewhere so he prob had the same childhood
