I agree, I wear hijab out of devotion to Allah. I suppose with all the hijab styles out there right now people have this misconception that the hijab is an accessory, to "try out", but its not.

Intention is key, there is nothing wrong with wanting to experience the hijab but if you're only wearing it because it looked good on youtube and you have no understanding of why Muslim women wear it and what it means to them, please dont do it. its not a fad.

Sorry for the essay) Hello, as I mentioned in my post there is nothing wrong with wanting to experience the hijab and there are many muslim run organizations and initiatives (in schools and inter-faith) that invite non-muslims to share in that experience, also on an individual level I find that muslim women are more then happy to share their experiences with non muslims that express a genuine desire to learn so no, I dont think there is an exclusivity issue. There are a lot of misconceptions about the hijab but there is genuine curiosity as well and I think muslim KZfaqrs like Manal do an amazing job at breaking down barriers while maintaining their muslim identity. I try to do the same in my day to day life whenever a co-worker asks me to put the hijab on for them, amidst the laughter and discussion of various styles, colors and techniques I always stress that pleasing your creator should be on the forefront of your mind because to me the hijab has always been a religious experience.

+Tia Junaidi People shouldn't get the wrong impression and think that we wear Hijab just because it's pretty? the meaning behind muslim women wearing hijab is major and shouldn't be used as a fashion statement.
